THE RULE OF 100.

We know how that "rule" applies to those in the hobby.....this, however, is what I believe should be the Cowboy's game plan for the entirety of the playoffs:

It's time for Garrett & Cowboy OC Scott Linehan to put the burden on the teams' biggest strength. And that would be the top draft choices of the past 5-6 years: the Offensive Line and RB, Zeke Elliot. If we truly have 4 first-team ALL PROS within that group, its eminent they lead the way. If effective, the play-action passing game for Dak & Da Boys Receiving Corps will have plenty of opportunities then. But...it starts with the running game.

I heard an interesting stat on the NFL Network this week...."Since the merger (1970) teams are 58-0 when their key running back ran the ball 30 times or more in a playoff game". Let that sink in for a second.

I thought to myself..."Is Elliott capable of handling a workload of 33.3+ touches per game over the next three games?" The answer is a resounding Yes, no question. He's young...he's strong...and more than capable to handle the pounding.

Dallas makes no secret of the fact they want to run the football and control the clock. It reduces the opponent's total (amount of) possession per game....and when facing a white-hot QB like Rodgers is, that would directly impact the final score.

Two, your defense is stronger / fresher come the 4th quarter...when it will be counted on the most to maintain the lead (or) get the ball back should the final score be in the balance.

So, there it is....Rule of 100.
100 touches for Zeke over the next 21 days and the Cowboys are (more than likely) the next Super Bowl Champs.
I can tell you enjoy football. That is interesting about 58-0 when the RB has 30+ carries. I would like to know who the last few backs who did that are. Emmitt might have a few of those.

That would be super if Greenbay can't stop our running game and we wear their defense out and our fresh defense dominates them in the fourth quarter.

Our big boys up front, Zack, Fredrick, Smith, Learey know they can carry this team to the super bowl. Concerned about Smith's back. Hope it isn't chronic because great left tackles aren't easy to come by.

I agree if Zeke is running strong. Keep running that horse. We are 1 game away from the NFC championship game. Let's worry about the pounding he takes now next year.

Dad gumett, I replied to your post but picked back instead of post so it's gone.

Part of it was our big boys up front, Martin, Smith, Fredrick and Leary know they can carry this team to the super bowl and if Zeke is making big chunks of yards let's keep running that horse today and worry about the pounding on his body next year.

Not sure about Emmitt (Smith) however the topic came up after Pittsburgh's game last weekend when Le'Veon Bell rushed one carry short of that magical 30. Steelers won, of course....the commentator just managed to sneak that little snippet in per the 58 and Oh....

Anyways...the beer's on ice and the wings are hot and tasty. Game Time, ladies and gents!

Stay tuned, Tran...I'll prove in the next day or so that today's win (GB over NY) doesn't mean diddly squat. In case you've not been payin' attention, this ain't Lomabardi's Packers, bro....
well, CB, you didn't prove my fear was wrong, that the Packers would annihilate the Cowboys today.. it is so bad, I turned it off before halftime!

I think I did, too.. I had the game turned off for large chunks of time, the Cowboys apparently played much better while I was away!

This hurts. We looked unprepaired to play the first quarter and a half but came back firing. I didn't see the best replay of that last great catch by Cook but was Byron Jones in good position to break up that pass but got lazy?

Well damm ..... I'm proud of the Boys but man do we need to upgrade the defense ..... and Aaron Rogers just needs to go away and never be heard from again ..... and while you're at it take Eli with you ..... here's wishing the Packers are served up a huge dose of humility next weekend in Atlanta .....

I watched the replay of the isolated camera on Cook. He was barely trotting, looking like a decoy. Even when he caught the pass, he wasn't full speed.

You give a QB enough time back there, he'll find somebody, eventually.

Default We spotted greenbay the whole first half.

Maybe having an EXTRA week off, is not a GOOD thing.
We came out flat/not hungry in the 1st half.
We need a good DE pass rusher bad.
And maybe a top CB cornerback.
I think we had a very good season
considering we had 2 rookies at the helm.
Damn, almost half our team was rookies.

Teams with the bye advance at a 75% clip. Red Jesus didn't have everyone ready.
