Truely luxie I love Austin even with the ass hats that are there cuz really there's only about four or five of them in Austin and usually they're all friends together I've seen a lot of people there so most the people that I see are usually regular I really hope that you don't let the few there keep you from experiencing an awesome ass time because there are a lot a lot of nice guys there

I believe escorting is an occupation that inherently has more risks for bodily harm--including life threatening situations--than most occupations. So until you can show data that shows the contrary, yes, I believe the homicide rate for providers is greater than for women as a whole.

Your comment about the ethics of this board--or others like it--is flawed. If such forums lower the threat to providers here vs providers elsewhere (those without a vehicle to exchange information, post alerts, etc.) then your ethical dilemma is a false dilemma.

But back to your "over reacting" claim. How many murders do you consider acceptable? How many dead providers before you react "appropriately"? Two is, by your words, insignificant--so tell me how many lives becomes significant?

Good point. Due to sex work prohibition, I doubt that there exist any reliable statistics on the dangers of violent assault, rape, and murder faced by providers. But in the absence of reliable statistics, use a little common sense. In what other context is a woman going to be alone with a man that she doesn't know, in circumstances in which she is so vulnerable? Distasteful as it is, put yourself in the shoes of a sick, evil creature who takes pleasure from killing a person ... of course a sex worker is going to be an attractive target to such a creature.

I know a couple of providers fairly well, having been repeatedly intimate with them and having regular correspondence with them between times. I'm sure they use good screening practices, and I know that both are women of considerable intuition and discernment. But I fret about them. It just takes one worthless maniac to make the unthinkable happen.
