Definitely lean and strong.

As I've aged I find it difficult to keep the weight down. Now weigh about 185 but hit the weights much more heavily than I did when I weighed 150 (540 pounds on the linear leg press machine). I think 170 would be the ideal weight for me right now. I do watch what I eat but I am not on a diet of any kind. I like food. I have a friend on a plant-based diet and to me that is not living. It all depends on what your goals are.

Michael Phelps used to eat uo to 12,000 calories a day. No calorie counting there.
Unfriendly Fred said that he is 6'2" and 210. That's funny as fuck to me. I'll stick with my assessment and let that clown who runs from handles live his fantasy.

SpeedRacer, I don't know how old you are and please don't feel the need to share it if you don't want do so. If you are hitting the weights hard, there is nothing wrong with putting on good muscle weight. Don't pay attention to the scale, pay attention to the eye test when you get out of the shower and take a look at yourself.

I'm 6'4" and I could not go get a physical fast enough when people started pointing out how thin I looked last week. I usually do Muay Thai and boxing for training as of the last year but I can't do that now so I've been working out at my home gym.

It turns out that I need to leave my vertical climber alone because I just don't eat enough to sustain my weight. It's always been hard for me to keep on pounds, but I was shocked when the doctor told me I was only 192 lbs. I wasn't trying to lose weight. I was just working out at home. Again, just trust the eye test out of the shower and only weigh yourself if you don't like what you are seeing. At 185 pounds as you are, just like what you are seeing in the mirror, and don't worry about the scale. If you don't like what you are seeing, get on the scale and monitor your weight.

No, but that’s not saying they haven’t. They both live in some weird fantasy worlds.

According to my eye test, I should lose about 15 pounds. I'm a realist if nothing else.

You were a competitive runner. You had a certain diet at the time. If you feel that way, lose that weight my friend. Forget the age, the athlete is still in you and don't forget that. Get after it, man. It's still in you. Don't worry about the age, worry about the mind and the will if you want to drop 15 pounds.

Don't forget the athlete you used to be. That athlete is still there. Don't forget that. You still have it in you.

I'm not surprised with that level of training you could burn massive amounts of calories and need high energy density foods. I wouldn't even know how to advise someone like Michael Phelps who burns 12,000 calories a day how to eat nutritiously for all of those calories but I guess he blends a massive amount of fruit into smoothies along with a lot of nuts and dried fruit?

I think as you age more weight lifting is a better idea than massive amounts of aerobic type exercises. I personally weight lift 3 times a week and only jog twice a week for that very reason. I eat a lot of protein (meat) to build muscle to go along with the weight lifting. You want to lose fat, not weight. You want to retain muscle.

Back when you were running competitively I would imagine if you did that well (those are exceptional times) eating whatever you wanted (and you obviously burned it all off with that percentage of body fat) then you could have done even a small amount better with a meticulously crafted nutritious diet assuming it didn't interfere with your psychological motivation.

People often ask me that very question when they go out to eat with me - how do you enjoy life when you never have a candy bar, never eat chips, never have a roll or a cookie, only eat whole wheat grains, don't add butter or sugar to anything, no alcohol, obviously don't smoke, no sugary sodas, no ice cream, no french fries, if I have to have a pizza I get a meat lovers pizza and just scrap off the meat, black coffee, sugar free RedBull, etc.

It is a very complicated set of reasons I do it - starting with unhealthy food is not worth it to me, no matter how good it tastes. I feel exceptionally good and proper nutrition fuels my workouts and lets me take my anger at the world out on the weights, the punching bag, the kicking target, the hill I'm running up (though the hills around here suck) and perhaps best of all - in person very few people fuck with me.

I have lost the occasional fight in life and once I've gotten over the initial pain the main problem is the long recovery time interferes with my workouts because you just don't heal as fast.

Beyond that it has a massively positive impact on my quality of life. I can do almost anything I could do physically when I was a kid and with no pain, and I can hike for miles, lift heavy shit, snow ski, water ski, play dodgeball with the kids - in short, no physical limitations and that is what matters to me more than occasionally and transiently enjoying food.

If it's not prying, are you in your 40's, 50's or 60's? Your fitness level might give some of us who are roughly the same age something to shoot for. Regardless, running three 8 minute miles, which I think you said you're doing, is fantastic for a twice a week runner.

SR will be fine. If he just wants to lose 15 pounds, that's nothing for him. He just needs to get back to his running days for a month or two and he'll easily accomplish his goal. He doesn't need to be hard core about it, but just needs to be consistent with his cardio and high protein intake and he will easily be at 170 in no time.

Well, you might think that based on the title, "Covid-19 is serious, not a subject for pranks," and considering the first post was partly about Muy Largo losing his sister to the coronavirus. But this thread has nothing to do with covid 19. It's mostly name-calling, begging for people to apologize for name calling, links to the most liked and hilarious posts in eccie history, Netflix series, personal fitness, yada yada. Furthermore Chung Tran and Lucas McCain got into one of the most fearsome back and forths since IB Hankering and Little Monster traded something like 750 insults in separate posts between midnight and 5:00 AM. Come on, get with it Hotrod.

Actually, I thought my back and forth with Chung Tran was rather tame. He never threatened to kick my ass or kill me like other anonymous keyboard pussies have done in the past with me on this board.

Edit: One would have definitely killed me and was definitely not full of shit like the rest of these keyboard pussies who talk shit about fighting me. I still give that guy props for actually being honest with his intentions to kill me. I still won't meet him though because he probably still wants to blow my fucking head off

Well, compared to the epic IB Hankering/Little Monster struggle, I have to give you and Chung Tran credit for your literacy and wit. IB and LM were copying and pasting their old replies because they ran out of things to say about 3:00 AM. I figured they were averaging about one post every 30 seconds. Neither was willing to let the other have the last word, until finally one of them must have passed out from exhaustion.

You should cut CT some slack. He's one of the most entertaining posters on this board. And besides there are quite a few here who would bang a 400 pound pregnant negress*, although not many of us would pay for the privilege.

*I've looked at the etymology of this word and it's not considered vulgar. Furthermore, I do not believe that CT banged a 400 pound negress. This is urban legend. She probably wasn't a pound over 250.

I don't have a problem with the guy. He started that bullshit. He of all people knows how I am on this board. I don't play nice when you catch my attention. Regardless, it's over as far as I'm concerned. He's not a bad guy. I know that... I don't care if some people have a problem with me. Just ignore me and I will ignore you. It's that simple.

Tiny, could you share that IB Hankering link? That may be a funny and entertaining read.

What else is there to discuss? The topic of this thread was done after the 2nd page.

Yous like broken records, Lucas? Go back to any protracted discussion with Hanksy and you’re read a whole lotta the same dang thing.

I remember the name, HH. I'm just curious what his arguments were about.

I'm bored so I'll just do a search.

Edit: I've read enough. That was no fun to read. It was actually pretty fucking boring and stupid. What the fuck is wrong with that guy?
