Recurve,
Police do have a very dangerous occupation. However, they chose to become police officers. Respectfully therefore, if the duties & stress of the job are too much for them, they really should consider a new career. If one of their moments violates someone's rights, or worse, we cannot tolerate that as a society.
We are raising the bar and that's a good thing. Too many people become police officers who have no business with such authority.
Hell, Trump said that "if you are nervous or jumpy maybe you shouldn't be a cop"
Do you know how annoying it is to me that I agree with Trump?

I disagree completely, and your statement goes back to my theory about "not getting it", based on different background and world view.. the Kids did not know Mom was wrong (nor was she), but they understand the history (much of it recent and local) of negative encounters blacks and police have had.. that's why they wanted to calm Mom, so the Cop would not go rouge.. the daughter got between the Cop and Mom only after the Cop threatened to arrest Mom for pissing him off.. you and Scribe, me and grean see the same video, and interpret it very different..
why didn't you answer grean's question? I assume you think it's okay that the Cop arrested Mom for pissing him off? for being too loud? that's what I gather from your statement.
|
First i dont know why i need to answer greans question. I was giving my opinion not a reply.
Second, you quicky dismiss my point as "i dont get it" without any logic or reasoning. You just say they knew she wasnt wrong but their actions say differently.
I dont think the officer was right to behave how he did. But the mom was no better. I also dont think its racist with one easy point. I have had officers get in my face asking me if i am accusing them but i calmly told them why in a rational manner. Maybe the real problem is that many blacks and many police officers are hot headed and that will lead to violent arrests.
But most of you backing the BLM types wont admit this mom and many like her are causing this just as much as the police.

I disagree, and gave my reasons..

see? you are saying again that it is okay to jail someone who talks loud and does not agree with the Officer.. you give the Cop the benefit because he is "the authority".. that's what I gather from your statement.

she caused the arrest because she raised her voice, and told the Cop he did not know what she taught her child.. got it.

I was merely pointing out that they both were wrong by not handling things properly.
Two guys
Two women
Two White people
Two Black people
yelling at each other is going to start a fight.
How about Two PEOPLE yelling at each other is going to start a fight.
STOP FUCKING YELLING!
And stop trying to make this about race. I already said... and you didnt quote it,the officer acted incorrectly. But not fire his ass and throw him in jail incorrectly.
Why arent you having the same outrage for actual racism and actual violence like this?

your link didn't go through, but I know what video you mean.. I am outraged by that, absolutely.. those 4 Goons should be jailed for abuse, kidnapping, holding a hostage.. 20 years each in the Pen, if I have any say.
BTW, I have the same outrage for those 3 white guys who rammed a coat hanger up the mentally-challenged black guy's ass in Idaho.. the chief abuser was not prosecuted, and the story did not get much national play.
there is a lot of similarity in the 2 cases, but they are unrelated.

Please know that my above statement about yelling wasnt at you directly. It was meant in general that people should stop yelling and work through things out.

I'll point it out again: One of them is a paid servant of the people, who has taken an oath and been entrusted with the ultimate authority in our society. The other is just an angry mom looking out for her kid.
There's a vast difference in their duty to "handle things properly."

Well said!
Can we all agree on that point?

All I see him do improperly was be rude to her. The arrest, taser, takedown, and cuffs were all warranted.
Maybe black people need a new song.
"Don't fuck with the police"
I think i am going to go record that now.

Could you explain how they were warranted?
What did the young lady that stepped in front of her mother do that gave a legal basis for her arrest?
Did the mother actually do anything besides as he said, "piss him off"?
If they did give cause, I am very interested to know what that cause was.

Thats easy... they were shoving him around. Girl in pink, girl in brown and mom resisted, then later the daughter resisted getting in the car.
I think you have the racists reversed. I just watched the full uneditted version. They were saying shit like "we fit'n to fight this white man". there is a guy that gets right in the face of the painting guy and is lucky the woman stopped.
Also, no one was using the choking story until the cop came. It was mentioned several times. Choking wasnt used to describe the incident.
Another point, the police dispatch explicitely tells the woman to have no more contact with the man but instead they sit on his yard essentially intimidating the man.
Oh and guess what
THIS ON LIVE BITCH!

That's twice now that you've agreed that he didn't handle the situation properly.
We don't pay police to be rude to citizens.
If he had handled the situation properly, none of the drama seen in that video would have happened.

they were shoving him around? no Sir! the one girl reached out and briefly grabbed the Cop as he was going apeshit on the Mom, after shoving the 15 year old out of the way.. I bet the Cop barely felt that, it was so brief.
resisted? Mom certainly did not, she can barely move.. daughter had a little difficulty getting in the car, with cuffs behind her back.. if you call that "resisting".. our Hero gave her a swift kick to teach her better manners.
this little incident, also on the West side of Fort Worth happened yesterday.. sounds a little like a Cop wanting sympathy, but I will reserve any judgement.. I know if I went into Wendy's and the Employees turned and walked away, I would think they were lazy, shiftless, and didn't care to do their job.. sort of like most fast food workers.. besides, how may employees were there? two or three? they could have thought he came in looking for one of them, for warrants or failure to pay child support.

So the 15 yr old didnt wedge herself between her mom and cop. And the chick in brown pants didnt shove the cop in the back causing the fall and takedown?
Maybe stop looking at the cop and look at the actions of the others. The cop stepped forward and reached out. Thats when the daughter lunged over and started the chain reaction.
But i guess if i didnt pay attention to the others i would see it your way but i dont so i wont.

the 15 year old got between the Cop and her Mom, to keep the Cop from going apeshit on Mom.. that was right after he threatened to arrest her for pissing him off.. the other Chick pushed him mildly, the Cop barely noticed, and no, that did not cause the fall and takedown..
the Cop "reached out".. the daughter "lunged".. even your word choices reveal a bias in the way you view the same video I see.
why did the Cop point the taser at a 15 year old girl who lay in the street? who was probably 10 feet away? is that not apeshit behavior to you?
