President McCain is being shown in Libya rallying support. He is using very specific terms: "ground troops" and "rebels opposing Gaddafi". Which is politispeak for "There are boots on the ground otherwise I wouldn't be here" and "The Muslim Counterinsurgency that we may end up fighting years from now."

In other news, 250 civvies have been killed in the Syrian civil war in the last 5 weeks.

President McCain...mmmm, my tachyon device is malfunctioning again..tap..tap.

More of President McCain on Libya. Its a stalemate. My favorite line "Hope is not a strategy."

Gaddafi did do one thing - He united all of Lybia's tribes. The only quick fix I see is hand picking a few strong "ground troops" working in conjunction with a few of our elite teams and planning a "surgical strike" and wiping out his entire line....NOT without another leader ready to take his place.....

There was one HUGE tactical error in Egypt...We had no puppet regime ready to take over the post right away, creating a vacuum for power hungry clerics....I wish that Google guy would step up to the plate....CIA should get their asses in gear and kidnap his family and force him to do it....Hold them in the Royal Palace....How bad can it be?

I'm thinking "they" are busy in the Eastern sector of the country.

I see the quick fix is to leave this alone. Syria’s is in the process of destabilizing, Egypt is no in the hands of the military, we’re occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, Libya is what it is, what’s next? Are we going to occupy the whole area? It’s none of our business. The most tactical of all these countries is Egypt and we just let that happen.

Where is it written that no country can have a civil war anymore? Why in this current era is there all this outrage from the world community for the dirty Americans to do SOMETHING?

Military, the USA has a strong military and is expected to use it. It's just expected. The marines are 911 for the planet earth it seems.

I don't think Egypt "just happened". I think there are always operatives ready to act and influence upon request from Langley....

I've never really been for the United States military being the peace maker of the world. And now that we can't afford it, I'm even less for it. But if we are going to be Rome, we should exact our tribute like the Romans did. None of this stuff is free.

You may be right, but we blew it anyway. Egypt is in the hands of their military now. The Suez Canal is in the hands of a destabalized country and what will probably become a military dictatorship.

You are correct, we had no puppet regime ready to fill the vacuum of power.

Olivia, I must state you are one of the only ladies I can have a decent conversation with. You are well read indeed.
