I have had this happen to me as well. Very annoying.

Well known, and several threads around here about the man "illegitimate" escort sites out there that "snatch and grab" folks photos and ads and repost them to attract traffic.

There's virtually no defense, and, fwiw, not much more one can do with photos other than watermarking them with an established web address so if someone grabs the photo viewers will know where to look for real.

Copyright is a sometimes thing, and, fwiw, putting a "copyright" tag along with the personal web address might (very faint, might) give the true copyright holder some leverage in protesting misuse, especially if you protest to the "host" that supports the offending website. imho, if the hosting company is in the U.S., you might stand a better chance of enforcement than if the hosting company is based overseas.

From my photo friend and what I remember reading in the past, there is a digital watermark that can be added so when the picture is posted anywhere on the net it will inform the true owner where and possibly when.
This service has to be paid for.

My pics were being used by LE across the country from me. They used a different name but my pics. They will sign up on verification sites and link to your reviews too. I know a girl they did that to about a year ago.

All you guys in this thread should get those site 411's and do a bunch of nc/ns and write reviews there that say "bait and switch". It would be good to get a throw away usb internet service for just such an occasion. If it's LE, they have to answer for all those wasted man hours and if it's just a bs site, it will crush them.

You ladies should create accounts there and bust them out on their own site. You could get some clients out of doing that (make sure it's not a LE site first). Also, contacting attorneys and admitting you are an escort doesn't tell them where you advertise. Use a throw away phone. Pick your attorney wisely by doing research on him first and turn him into a client. Find one that's been divorced at least once, has lots of trial hours and graduated somewhere else. It's more the bondsmen you can't trust.

More than anything though, get on those sites and post about those pics being stolen. Do you gals know about tineye? It's a program you can run your pics through and it will show if any are being used anywhere else on the web. Do this weekly so you know. You can also have the attorney find out who owns those site/s too. He can send them a letter and end that problem real quick. It's always best to have a good attorney on your side. I have several in several areas. I always research them, contact them and make nice. After I see them several times and know they are cool, I ask them if they know anything about the sites I am on as if I am only thinking of joining. Sometimes they join and figure out who I am. Some I have known since before I started posting on the net. Attorneys know each other too. One attorney client can get you a whole host of new clients that are well informed. Then you can post warnings like I do and make people wonder how the hell you know so much... *giggles*. Be sure to keep that circle fresh, sharing 411 across those lines so that your circle is well informed and protects each other. You can't get any safer than that ladies. Also, keep them in a separate email on a different profile on your computer that does not have administrative privileges. In fact your admin profile should never be used for anything and put a 16 character pw with abnormal caps and numbers on all your profiles. Something like "fUckerscAnKMA777" or "gEt8oUt8oF8mYbox". That's how you avoid viruses, stalkers, LE ... from coming in your compuers back door. Don't reuse pws. Stay safe!

Hope this helps! Toodle-oo

ShysterJon in Dallas is a hobbying lawyer who throws down free advice on the board for simple legal stuff like this. You might pm him. No guarantee he will help, but it couldn't hurt.

Default Web sites displaying provider images without consent

A bud in SA told me about this thread. Awhile back there was a thread in the Dallas coed forum on this topic. I'm too lazy to find it and I remember what my advice was anyway.

With many things in life you can endlessly debate what's right and wrong. That's even more true regarding the law. If a provider's images are being used without her permission and she wants it to stop, she should hire a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter to the web site. I'm asked to do this every once in awhile and I've never had a site refuse to stop using an image. The site doesn't care (and I don't really care) whether the image is protected by law. The site stops using the image because they have better things to do than fandango with a lawyer.

A lawyer shouldn't charge more than the fee for an hour's worth of time to write a cease and desist letter. A lawyer's hourly rate will vary. Usually, the more experienced the lawyer, the higher his or her rate. It would be silly to think an experienced criminal defense lawyer would be shocked if a provider revealed her profession. Hell, I had a client describe a grisly murder and dismemberment to me in my office last week while I was eating a roast beef sandwich. If a provider doesn't want to pay a lawyer for his time, that's fine, but just as when paying a provider, you get what you pay for when you pay your lawyer.

I kind of scanned this thread and noticed a provider was suggesting that girls trade services with lawyers. No disrespect intended to any of our lovely ladies here, but I think a provider trading playtime for legal representation is a godawful idea, especially in a criminal or family law case (such as a divorce, a child custody dispute, or a case about child support). A client should expect her attorney to be a zealous advocate, but he should also be an impartial counselor. It may be hard for an attorney to remain objective when he's licking the honeypot, so to speak.

Also, I've heard many horror stories over the years from providers about how they screwed their lawyer in a good way, but then their lawyer screwed them in a bad way by not showing up for court or otherwise doing what he promised to do.

Finally, it is not uncommon for an attorney and a client to get into a dispute. When sex is involved and emotions run high, it's possible either party may surrender to their baser instincts and use the relationship against the other. So I think a provider and her attorney should keep it on the up and up, and not do the in and out.
