Default Chiefs Win Ugly; Chargers Lose

Well, it really wasn't pretty and I hate being indebted to Al Davis for anything, but KC is now 8-4 with a two game lead in the AFC West. So now they can afford the near-inevitable loss in San Diego next week.

The Good

Brandon Carr--this fifth round draft pick covered Denver's #1 receiver all afternoon and broke up a mere six passes. If he fails to make just two of those plays, Denver wins.

Romeo Crennel's Pass Defense--Denver has a terrific passing attack and they were held to 87 yards. 'Nuf said.

Jamaal Charles--Another day, another 100 yards. Ho hum.

The Bad

Romeo Crennel's Run Defense--Giving up over 170 yards rushing to Knowshon Moreno? They hadn't allowed a single rusher to gain over 90 yards prior to today.

The Ugly

The entire offensive second half. God, where to begin. Stupid penalties negating big gains and touchdowns, players blowing up and shoving coaches on the sidelines, turnovers, sacks, and some exceptionally bad officiating as the cherry on top (I'm sorry but Dwayne Bowe did not push off).

Having to root for the Raiders to beat San Diego. But they did it, bless them.

Thought it rather humorous when Haley and McDaniels hugged at the end of the game today. Last game they wouldn't even shake hands. LOL Silly boys LOL

Double bonus. Mcdaniel got the boot today. I know there are hearts breaking all over town. Never did like that donkey. lol

Winning ugly is a heck of lot better then losing pretty.

Chefs 2 game lead with 4 to go!!! I had a free vacation bet if they went 9-6 or better, I will never collect, but it will be sweeter then puntang if they do it.

Hope they go 3-1 and just win outright, no matter what anyone else does. In my opinion, they have met or exceeded most predictions. If they do better, it's a bonus. Of course, there will still be disappointment. Next year, with some help at receiver, defensive line, and LB, they will be even better.

Don't start choosing a wine to go with crow just yet. Their remaining games are pretty tough--at San Diego, at St. Louis (a much tougher game than anyone would have predicted in August), Tennessee (reeling now but very dangerous) and Oakland (which may end up being a bigger threat than San Diego). Three of the four are at .500 and none are pushovers.

Agreed. Tennessee is the most winnable of them all. St. Louis has a tough D, from what I've heard/seen. San Diego is going to be fired up after their loss to Oakland. The good thing is that Oakland game is at home. We're not out of the woods yet, but Oakland winning was huge for the team.

The "experts" are giving the Chiefs a +7 point advantage over S.D. I hope they're right, but S.D., coming off a loss to the Raiders, playing at home. Chiefs are gonna have their work cut out for them. If they just play to their potential, they'll win.
