That would be so much fun. However need people with the resources and space to host it. I think there should be a buy in say $40 or so. Then tournament style the winnings would go something like Doubles with providers, 2nd is a session, 3rd is a shorter session....Something like that obviously it would have to be figured out how many people would be playing to determine the prizes ie hours of sessions, with how many etc. Of course to encourage the providers to play the session winnings can only be spent on the providers that play in the tournament. So if John Doe wins say a session, that valued session money goes to Susie Q, whom John chose. Now for the providers if they win in the "money" they will actually get the cash value of that place winnings. Unless of course they want to do a session with another provider...hawt!
Just an example of the Prizes based on the common session prices. If 32players were in: 32*40=$1280
- 1st: $500 value an hour with doubles
- 2nd: $350 value; 90 min session
- 3rd: $250 value; 60 min session
- 4th: $180 value; 30 min session
Now if there are other costs for food, drinks, tables, cards, and/or location that is where it can get hairy. Technically by law you cannot have the "House" take a rake. So you cannot have the cost of entry to include payment for the "House" because thats a rake and illegal. However you can STRONGLY encourage donations to support it.
Just my 2 pesos.
