Default Congratulations Texas Rangers

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers and their native Texan team President Nolan Ryan. I am a native Houstonian and a lifelong Astro fan but Nolan and the Rangers made all TEXANS proud tonight!

They are 4 wins away from their first World Championship!

I am a Astros fan, the only TRUE Texas team. I am sure that whatever network is showing the World Series is cringing right about now....

I have been a devout Yankees fan for more decades than I care to remember. But kudos to the Rangers. They outplayed the Yanks in every phase of the game -- hitting, fielding, coaching, execution, pitching, etc. Hamilton is definitely a feel-good story.

Interested in seeing how the Yankees re-tool this off season. Not impressed with Girardi's management skills. I would get rid of half of the pitching staff as a beginning. Gardner is a pain in the butt but his hitting is so suspect.

But back on subject -- best of luck to the Rangers when they head to S.F. or Philly.

I said the same thing to my wife. A Texas-S.F. World Series is not very attractive on a national basis.

I'm happy to see the Rangers in the World Series. It was even sweeter to see A-Rod strike out to end the game!

As far as attracting a national TV audience, maybe Nolan Ryan can beat the snot out of Robin Ventura again instead of throwing out the first pitch!

The Texas Rangers: Proof that once Dubya goes away things can get better.

I heard the Rangers are favored (140). I'm heading up for game 5 which is Monday night. Tickets are crazy expensive. 500 for standing room only. I spent 5 K on 2 great seats. (gag) BUT, I lived in Big D for 6 years and have been a big Ranger fan since the 80's and solidified by them signing Ryan in 1989 from the dumbass Astro's. The guy went 8-16 one year with an era < 2.00. The Astro's offered him a paycut. I lived in Houston as well for 6 years and have been a fan of them as well thru the Killer B era. Rangers I feel have the advantage in every catagory this series except the bullpen. I agree the station was hoping for 1 Northeast team (NY or Phil.) to get in. Rangers win in 5 while I am there!
