Sometimes they will complain an ad is lacking in the words, pictures and flair dep't. Then other times they will complain an ad is too wordy, as too many pictures (really? TOO many pictures?? That's a new one! lol) and is self-gratifying.
Ladies post what works for them and the type of men she's trying to meet.
Personally, I post LONG ads because I am hoping to get men with long-enough attention spans who I think will get a feel for my personality, realize I'm a chatterbox and not be turned off by the fact that I like to talk because they like to talk as well. This has worked well for me.
If I was trying to attract the "a little less conversation, a little more action" crowd (which.... no. that is NOT what I'm looking for), then I'd keep my ad brief like, "number, rate, pics, stats, call me."
Maybe the ladies in question know a little something about marketing to reach the types of clients they want, and you're (the OP) not them.
