To BP or not to BP?

Since quitting my full-time job I am wanting to do more advertising and was just curious on everyone's thoughts about placing a BP ad. I am not 100% sure on whether or not it will be beneficial. (I know I ask a lot of damn questions but you all give such great advice it is hard to resist).

I get a lot of calls from BP. You just have to screen them carefully and weed them out. A lot of the gentlemen on ECCIE also look on that site for providers. It's only $3 right now to post an ad. Who knows how long it'll be around for? Might as well take advantage of it before it goes the way of Craigslist.

Is it harder to screen those from BP? I got a feeling that BP will be around for awhile they are not pushovers like CL was. I do think however they will do a lot of cleanup and become more vigilant when it comes to ads. Thanks Allie your a sweetheart.

Ugh I wrote a response out and for some reason it didn't post....

What I said, summarizing, was that I get far more calls from BP then all the other sources/boards combined. Allie is right, you have to weed through those calls.

As for screening, you have to do whatever you are comfortable with. A lot of the guys that only know about BP, don't even know what a reference is. I've had some guys offer to give me their siblings, family info to verify them lol. Just let them know you need to know who they have seen in the local area, and be sure that if you are unfamiliar with the lady he gives you, that you check her out to be sure that she is indeed legit.

When I'm feeling froggy... I look up dates on BP... its easy, regional and free for me to have access to a great number of ads in a day or week's time. Also, it is easy for me to screen there... i can take the info i get there and do a search here or google to see if she's real or other sources to find out if i should stick to my ATF.

Talk to the ladies on this board about how to make effective use of BP and sites like BP... they'll coach you

Mya, if you don't mind, Let me know how it goes. I'm from Chicago and will be visiting KC in November. I've had the worse experiences advertising on BP in Chicago, but KC is smaller so I may be able to handle it there. New experience new things.

BP brings me some of my best clients. Some people like to speak poorly of "bp girls" but it's all in the screening, as with every other website.

I generally have not posted on bp when traveling if I do not know the area or the overall hobby attitude in the city. I also take the amount of providers posting on bp in to consideration.
