Now I have got to believe that the stats are higher here. The two highest risk groups in order are teens and sex workers and regular clients. There is a lot of sex going on in this community, enough to make up for my mom and my grandma being included in those statistics and I would bet the farm neither of them have it!

My point being is that the reality is our community has a high enough infection rate that they would not use it. And this is just Herpes I used for an example. There is a whole bunch more STD's with their own stats compounding the problem.


I also believe as was mentioned above, it would be perverted into a BBFS safe database. There is enough of that going on as their is. I have never seen so many open requests and ads for it. WOW.

But if P411 added it, I am in!

Exactly. And what about the "next big thing"? People were spreading HIV for several years before it was discovered. Anyone who's ever taken basic microbiology or evolutionary biology will tell you that viruses mutate at a truly staggering rate and new species arise every year. For all we know the next big nasty could be quietly spreading right now among promiscuous college students and won't be identified until 2014.

I'm not a Chicken Little; though I hate to admit Humpty is right about anything, he is correct in stating that HIV is rare among non-drug-using heterosexuals. But "rare" doesn't mean "nonexistent", and I know for a fact that there are clients who see both male and female escorts (or both professional escorts and drug-addicted streetwalkers) and thereby risk introducing it into the escort population. And there are lots of ugly, nasty diseases which ARE common among heterosexuals, some of which can be spread during asymptomatic phases. This is my JOB, not a crusade to free humanity, and I'm therefore unwilling to risk my life, health, marketability or genital attractiveness just to please a few imbeciles who don't care about their health or that of their wives.

Prostitution is completely, 100% legal in Canada.... not that I know any prostitutes.

However, brothels, street prostitution, and pimping were illegal in Canada (where I reside)..... up until last month.

PS: I would never, EVER, do any sort of testing on P411 as discussed here. People need to take responsibility for their own health and protect themselves accordingly. A good number of both clients and providers have STIs, and that won't change any time soon. A smart person acts accordingly.

Gina: Yeah, I think the feedback speaks for itself. At this point, std screening is not going to be improved with outside service company. STD's are a totally different obstacle than identity verification. It's just not practical yet. A few have mentioned personal responsibility i.e.proper condom use, visual inspection, and common sense. Maybe the focus should be on better physical tools, i.e innovations in condoms, dental damns etc.

I remain optimistic about the future of pleasurable/safe sex.....

It does seem like a good idea, and there are obvious risks and negative aspects....BUT...can you imagine?
A strip of paper (like litmus), in the mouth, each time, with each person, and get a real answer about ANY risk EVERY time? HEAVEN! NO WORRIES!
Personally, I won't do BB for anyone, for any reason, even if that test became available, but that would be an extra added peace of mind I've never had!

And just as some girls on P411 have started with the "client must have ten okays" nonsense, so people would soon start such games with the screening service: "Oh, your results are from last week, I only see providers/hobbyists with results from yesterday". And finally, it would soon turn into a tool for pressuring girls to do BBFS: "Oh, look, I'm clean, it says so right here!" Which is all well and fine until the next HIV appears at some unpredictable point in the next 20 years.

Exactly. There is a balance between increasing peace of mind i.e. make sessions more enjoyable, and still being responsible i.e. cfs. My car has airbags, but I still wear a seatbelt.
