I want to express my sincere gratitude
OMG;
I am not sure I can convey the appreciation that I feel so deep in my soul for the TEA BAGGERZ efforts in the Republican primaries this year.
Ya sure picked some doozies and have eaten your your and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Now this latest deal in Delaware is a cutie, Loan defaults, mortgage foreclosure, phony degrees and a bogus lawsuit against a former employer for pain and anguish. No job for some time, no income except from campaign contributions and she beats a decent guy.
The Tea Party reminds me of Hassidic Jews and what are problem they are in Israel.
I am giddy!!!

Is Delaware an open primary? I would suspect if it is, that Democrats crossed over, just as the Republicans did in South Carolina, to get someone on the ballot they think they can beat.

Nope, it was a closed primary. Strong anti-incumbent sentiment doomed Castle. If people that do not vote in the primaries do not like the choice of candidates on election day, they only have themselves to blame.

Lets save this discussion for November 3 of this year. Though I do appreciate that some of you will embarrass yourselves by making dumb statements now. The more the merrier but let me point out that many of these dumb GOP candidates were declared unelectable a couple of months ago and now they lead in the polling. Too bad we can't some people to pay a penalty for being so wrong. I for one would laugh my ass off if I read about some guy in a cat mask bathing naked in the Plaza fountain.

You know the old saying, 'any publicity is good publicity'? She has raised almost a half million dollars in one day?!?!?
Its Delaware, D's outnumber R's 1.5:1. Its Biden's old seat. Its assumed that the seat will go Democrat.
All of the sudden, its too close to call.

Delaware
With all of that baggage do you seriously want a person like her in the Senate of the United States of America?
Against masturbation and lusting in the heart and .....I just can't go on.
For the only time in my life I agree with Karl Rove.

Part of me hopes all the wingnut Teabaggers* get elected in 2010. By 2012 things will swing back the other way. All you have to do is keep the camera on the Teabaggers and they self-destruct.
*Yes, they are teabaggers. That's what they called themselves from the beginning...until they were told what it means. Remember? The original idea was to mail tea bags to Congress on February 1st, 2009. Do I need to post the pictures of Teabaggers wearing tea bags again?

How is her baggage any different than that of all the rest of those in office. I dont support her, but if lack of baggage was a criteria than no one would be in there.

The same things being said about Christine O'Donnell and her chances in Delaware were being said last fall when Scott Brown was running in Massachusetts. And the ratio of Dems to GOP in Mass. is greater than the ratio in Delaware. And when Marco Rubio beat Charlie Crist in Florida's primary, the pundits said it would split the GOP vote and guarantee victory for the Dem candidate - now Rubio has a 16 point lead over Crist and Meeks in Florida. There's so much anti-establishment furvor in the country right now, that no incumbent of either party is guaranteed victory, which, in the long run, is beneficial to everyone.
Besides, if Castle would have won in Delaware, it would have been like electing a Dem anyway (just like Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and George Voinovich (sp)).

Tea Baggerz
NPR on Morning Edition has been running a daily segment on the Group.
Today was really interesting. TEA means Taxed Enough Already and the original group was focused on that issue. Then some social conservatives have joined and brought in anti abortion, anti gay marriage and reestablishing the American Family of the 50's.
The social conservatives do not feel that you are legitimate if you only oppose taxes but you must also do a litmus test on the social issues. The originals do not want to deal with the social issues just the taxation part.
Tommorrow's program will deal with where the money is coming from.
Good stuff.
DD here is my thinking. Everyone at some point will always seek to exert personal power. If you are not vigilant and are lazy then eventually some fool will slip through and will end up coaching your kid in soccer, teaching Sunday School or like Galt will try to be credible on numerous boards.
This lady has run for this office 2 times before and got through on the 3rd attempt. She like Rove said is kinda nutty.
I think we can do better than this. Brown in Massachusetts will at times not be held captive to the message of no and frankly he ran a good campaign against a weak candidate. I think that he won fair and square and will be a moderate republican if he wants to win again.
Go watch George Foreman fight Ali in Zaire. That is what you are seeing play out in my opinion.

Now there's a credible, non-partisan media group.

I'm with the original group. While I agree with the social conservatives on many of their issues, I do not agree that bringing those issues into the Tea Party is going to help - it will only hurt. Every election cycle has its main issue - this one's the tax-and-spend Congress with the consent of the Chosen One. Keep the social issues out - it's not the time nor the place for that discussion.

Agree with the "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" correlary, though not with your phobia about JG.

Rove was a consultant on the Mike Castle campaign, so he was supporting his candidate of choice.
