I quit reading the list after seeing the second ranked school was Texas A&M. I immedidately knew the whole thing was bullshit.

I realize this post is an inside joke between a few folks that brag about having their school ranked higher on any list, even as mundane as say who has the average number of teeth the dining hall employees have left...
...but I would have been interested more in the "why" as opposed to just a list. Why as in "why" the shift to public schools vs. privates?
I'll suggest retention. As exciting as it may be to bring in a couple of Ivy Leaguers, if they don't stick around it isn't a win.

Well, there were a lot of things, but in a roundabout way, retention did factor in. But the retention centered more on the fact that the Ivy Leaguers are more likely to only work a year or two, and then leave to go get an advanced degree. Industry felt the state school grad tended to stay and advance in the company.

I can't imagine that this is any kind of accurate representation. Where are the Ivy League schools. You're not going to convince me that a graduate of Texas Tech or Arizona is more highly recruited and makes more than a graduate of Harvard, Yale, Stanford, University of Chicago, Columbia, etc. It's certainly not the case with the law schools at these universities.

That was kind of implicit in my reply. Maybe I needed to spell it out.

This only corporate recruiters not law school admissions officers.
While this is a fine list for what it is, it is misleading in that many of the private schools do not even offer undergrad degree programs in many professions.

Here is another thought. Maybe corporate recruiters are looking for people that are prepared to come in and work hard at what they are expected to do -- as opposed to someone who thinks they have a god given right to instruct everyone else on how things should be and the philosophical reasons therefor.
Or to say it much shorter, the public school graduates are grounded.

So the grads at the Harvard B school, the Wharton B School aren't highly recruited? Stern B School at NYU? Give me a fuckin' break.

Yep, they only interviewed 479 of "the largest public and private companies, non-profits and government agencies". Your all's anecdotal knowledge surely outweighs all that.
