I am all for a little barter or trade. I can do electrical house wiring repair, mechanical work, clean gutters if provided a ladder. Move large objects around (i prefer rocks). I don't do bat removal, but can do woodchuck removal and other unwanted furry critters. I can do drywall, painting etc. All you have to do is ask.

I remove bats just sayin. I pass on gutters and window cleaning. But will glaze in a new pain.

Exactly.
I've done this in the past with a fav ATF Canadian dancer. Years ago told her all the action was moving to the Internet. She said she was interested but knew nothing about computers. So I taught her all about PCs. She ended up doing even better than before. Our mutual relationship went on for well over 10 yrs till she retired and moved further up North.

I've received requests for my services before but always decided to pay for time, just to keep things clean.

I have bartered before... it works especially if it's something you want or need. I know a lot of gents that will use half gift cards and that's kind of bartering...

Bartering is one of those things that can either work out exceptionally well, or just end up being too much trouble. I've been curious about it myself, but personally, I saw too many loopholes, too many potential for problems. But it can and does work for some, every situation is different.

I once helped a provider with her college homework. Not only did I do it pro bono, the clock was also running on my time.

I'm great at laying pipe and filling all kinds of holes. For barter of course.

I have done some bartering myself. Each time it worked out great. You do have to make sure that you are both on the same page though and that the 'services' are not dragged out. There does need to be a specific timeline however, as to how long it will take to get the job done or how long it will take to pay the job off in order to avoid some hurt feelings. This is a business transaction.
