That is correct. Ain't no way they would let the school district teach their kids about another's religion. Fox would be all over it just as you said. These Christians gotta teach their kids that they are the religion of peace by God. Not some secular school! School is the problem in their minds. They want the government to pay for their kids to get a religious education of their choosing!

COG - Sorry to tell you but the Tea Party and the Republican Party do welcome right wing christian extremists. Have you seen the bumper stickers they display on their cars?
Schools are the place where kids learn how to lie and cheat, and that they are only wrong when they get caught. Even then, society blames the teachers and not the kid or the parent(s).

Wrong, as usual Randy4Andy. It was a racist, a religious zealot and two loonies – unless we toss you into the sum; then it would be three loonies.

Wasn't this guy a "punk rocker". That is pretty far removed from the Tea Party.

[QUOTE=icuminpeace;3022846]COG - You're missing the point. Sarah Palin is inciting people to harrass other people based on the bumper stickers they have. Do you think that there are no other nut jobs out there that will start pulling guns on people for their bumper stickers? You do know that a lot of the Palin followers aren't too sane as well, right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87CPg5MB_Ec[/QU You believe there are people that will start killing people because of a bumper sticker they didn't like. And you automatically blame the tea party, which as far as I know hasn't been involved in any violence.
This is really saying something, but, you could be the biggest idiot that I've seen on this board.

Default Media and Politicians inciting hate..

I believe this is a direct result of the media and politicians who are stirring up these crazy people.

Americans need to stop inciting these fanatics and racist ignorant f**kers.

Yes, if this keeps up you will see the people start pushing for gun control laws even more. If you don't want your guns taken away then stop inciting hate.. and hold those accountable (politicians, media, etc) for the shit they say on TV and in their public speeches.

I cum I was the one who brought up the idea of teaching the differences in religion so don't attack COG over that. There is a difference between teaching religion and teaching a course in comparative religions. Unlike a California school that had grade schoolers dressing like Muslims, talking like Muslims, praying like Muslims and taking Muslim names for a week you just give them the facts. Besides what that school did was racist as they had the children dressing like Arabs and not Indonesians (the most likely nationality for a Muslim). I guess the educators at Half Moon Bay school district think that all Muslims are Arab and all Arabs are Muslim. Racist liberals.

Pretty disgusting democrat sticker.

I want a bumper sticker that says I cum in peace. Boy I bet I'd get some looks.

It is not a "one or the other" choice. It is a continuum. And a decade+ after 9/11 we still have not had the necessary discussion in an intelligent, honest manner. Painting it as one or the other is the kind of thinking that fuels the political quagmire we are in.

Tell us about the continuum, Old-T. I'd be interested. How much liberty are you willing to surrender for security? Where do we draw the line?

Glad you put "punk rocker" in quotes. Actually, there is a fairly large contingent of "shredders" who hang pretty far starboard.

Please don't sound patronizing. You know very well that any difficult trade is unlikely to have an overly simplistic "perfect answer". I'd suspect that kind of simplistic comment from some on here, but not you.

The minute you acknowledge that carrying a loaded shotgun onto a 747 isn't a good idea you have decided it isn't all-or-nothing. As to where it should be, I don't know. But I do know it needs to be a discussion among the populous--something we seem to have forgotten how to do.

How much privacy are you willing to give up to keep illegal imigrants out?

How much screening to be safer in travel?

What's the ballance between "stretching the truth" in advertizing and "freedom of speach"?

I'll even throw in the anthrax question I asked earlier, but I don't think you answered. If you truly believe it's all or nothing, do you really believe I should have the libery to have my own personal chem bio weapons collection? Or do I onl ylose that right after killing a couple million folks?

When one person's "liberty" puts a lot of others in danger I do beieve there need to be limits applied. I also believe it's not obvious where to place the limits.
