Olympic Apathy
Am I the only one who just doesn't give a shit about the Olympics? I don't plan on watching or following any of the events.
I didn't used to be this way. I blame the Royals/Chiefs for my lack of interest in sports.

Count me in on that as well. I've got better things to do with my time, but rather than single out the Royals/Chiefs, I will just spread the blame among all the overpaid spoiled athletes who can't seem to live without performance enhancing drugs, or stay out of jail.

Not me. I am a sports addict. The last time I turned my TV on was literally, to watch my Beloved 'Hawks play in the NCAA Championship. Hell, I went through a nearly month long recovery from surgery without bothering to turn the TV on.
However, tomorrow night I will be glued to the TV to watch the opening ceremonies, and the TV will be on most of the time until the closing ceremonies. This is why God invented Doggy style right?? Right??*
* I keed! I swear!

The cable system I'm on has a channel devoted to basketball and a channel devoted to soccer - the only two sports I was planning on watching this time around.

Is that why she invented it?
Well can I be your doggie for a week or so Miss SOF? I promise not to p on the carpet. And when they win a gold medal, what should we do? BLS might be tough however. Might need a ceiling mirror or something?
Oh, and you could still see it during DATY, IF you can keep your eyes open that is!

I'm with ya....olympics, summer and winter, bore me. In fact, I didn't even realize this summer was the olympics until a friend said something today.
I don't pay attention to the news either. Clinton is still president, right?

I'm with ya but not cuz of the royals/chefs. I hate the olympics cuz they only show the money sports like basketball & gymnastics. I'd watch if they show a little more track & field & the wrestling.

what ever happened to the "best of the best" now we have "spread the wealth around" the best cannot take the stage anymore, the stage is now occupied by only the top two athletes from each country. So if someone works their ass off and gets to number three from a country, then TS, you cant complete in the finals. Sort of makes the Olympics a place of mediocrity and not one of excellence.

Boshif, actually the rule that only allows 2 competitors from one country in gymnastics has been around for many years. It has never been fair, and should have been changed long ago. The only difference is that this is the first time it has affected the US. We don't usually have such a powerhouse team (go USA!) for the rule to affect us. In Beijing though, a Russian gymnast was not allowed to compete for the same reason, and China has also had gymnasts denied the ability to compete.
Regardless, the rule is grossly unfair, cheapens the spirit of competition, and should have been discarded years ago.

I really don't care about Olympic apathy. Or any other kind.
