The president doesn't technically spend but he can prevent Congress from spending. The president has the power to veto any spending bill from Congress. That's why runaway spending was partly Bush's fault. He didn't use his veto power to reign in spending. Deficit spending was also a problem in the Reagan administration. At least Reagan was building up the military with part of the money.

So if Obama was the biggest military spender in the history of the world, that would be a great thing, huh?

I will say, "STOP SPENDING, YOU IDIOT!"
There, satisfied? If he keeps spending, I will call for his impeachment. I don't give a damn which party or who is in power, if they keep spending, they are destroying this country.

We've certainly gotten ourselves into a real economic mess and we're probably not going to balance the budget overnight. I keep hearing about trillion dollar deficits indefinitely. I hope to God Romney gets this thing under control, otherwise we're screwed.

the national debt related to the GDP, specifically
Obies current dept represents 70% and is expected to reach 80% in the next decade ...
supposedly 60% is an acceptable number to economic pundits ...
as noted during the campaign Romneys economic plans will/can increase the debt as much as 96% (related to GDP) by 2012 ... 26% more than Obies current debt ...
given the constant world ending moaning and the certain demise of the country with the PRESENT numbers being posted by Obie one would think the right would be at complete fiscal odds with Romney ...
if you rightwingers arent toatlly upset with that then you simply need to STFU about the debt ...

Nobody, including you, CBJ7, has provided a source for Romney's spending.

And if he does supply a source to back up his statement, will you then oppose Romney?

You forget one basic truth. It takes people and money to get elected and when elected those people expect to get paid back in some fashion. In most cases this means tax breaks for them or spending on a project that directly benefits them. The next President will be no different. He will have people he will owe and his only way to replay this is through government spending.

That is a problem, no doubt. Which is why we're fucked.
