Wow. I've had a bit of a crush on you for some time. You appear to be gorgeous, and I've always appreciated your subtle, humble posts.

You seem to have become far more jaded; almost angry. I really didn't see anything malicious in buckman's post.

She says that she trying to overcome her problem, and I commend her for that, but these disorders often require professional help. I feel that she started this thread to seek affirmation that she's fine. You and several others have given her that affirmation. Shame! Any reasonable person can see that she's not fine, and as Bucknan suggested, she needs to make some changes. Buckman may or may not look "reeaaaalll good on stage" but what the hell does that have to do with anything. He didn't put himself out there and ask for feedback. Those of you who do, should expect, and respect honest feedback.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with ED. It's a tough battle but you are making great progress and with enough determination and discipline, you will be able to wave goodbye to it forever.

That being said, people are going to say what they want to say, as this is a quasi-anonymous forum and many people feel that entitles them to be rude or insensitive without consequence. I don't think that will ever change, all you can do is change the way you react to it. Those who feel the need to comment negatively about your appearance have their reasons, and possibly their own internal demons. You can't take it to heart. You're a beautiful girl and you're on the road to happiness and health, don't let other people drag you down in the process. Focus on you and let the rest fall by the wayside.

Ally, your courage to publicly admit that you have a problem and take ownership of it is awesome, way to go. Most of us know that eating disorders are usually based on some other unresolved personal issue, so again you get mucho credit for opening up about that. Your pic's look much better, keep it up!!

"Spinner" isn't a number on a scale. I have to agree with Nuby on this one, and just based on your perceived body type from the pic's since we've never met, you'd look great at ~115 pounds but obviously you've got some hurdles to overcome before you get comfortable with that.

Coming from an old fat guy with an eating disorder that goes the other direction. Between learning bad eating habits from my dad and no sweets around the house as a kid because of my diabetic brother... I eat way too much of the wrong crap, but I'm working on it... again....

Say my day job was as a web developer (it's not). As part of attracting business, I have a portfolio of websites that I show off to get people to give me money to make their websites.

If a potential customer points out that the websites in my portfolio are ugly, or don't work in IE, or whatever, well, I may want to do something about that. I may be a really nice person and charming to spend time with, but I'm asking people to give me money to make them a good web site, so they are going to judge me based on the websites I show off.

Similarly if an escort posts pictures of herself advertising for people to spend time with her based, in part, on her physical attractiveness (I know that's not 100% of attraction but for many men that scores around 70% at least) then customers will assess them critically and possibly provide feedback. Not every customer is going to be polite with that feedback. Unless you limit your customer base to polite people only, that could be an issue.

buckman, this would be an example of how to address the opposing view without being a complete dick about it, evading questions, and deflecting the wrongs in your comments by projecting your own anger and bitterness onto others. You are so transparent.

My motto is, criticism should be used to your advantage or thrown out the window. Whatever you do, don't keep it if you aren't going to use it.
