Not to split hairs here, but the purpose of Memorial Day is to remember those who have given their lives in service to the country. Veterans Day is to salute veterans. Anita is 472 years old, but last time I checked she was still breathing.

It is a day set aside for them as a memorial.
You don't go see Grandma at the grave every day.
