Social Security and Medicare were the creations of FDR and LBJ. Social welfare states always collapse. As Maggie Thatcher said, "eventually you run out of other people's money." We should have abided by the Constitution which prohibits both these programs. The way to balance the budget is to close every federal agency that can't be supported by the Constitution. We'd be in surplus over night if we did.

We can cancel all the money going to any and all elected officials. Let them find out how it is to try to make ends meet. This would include any money raised from speeches or endorsements. We can also forbid any millionaire pols from accessing their money.

Won't work though, they would just get gifts from rich, old widows that they think are going to hide their love child from the voters rather than just spending it.

I say we cut all teachers salary to zero.

I say we cut out all student aid.

I will say that they have been cooking the book for decades.

Anyone that does not understand that the vast military industrial complex has been robbing from the SS Trust fund does not understand basic accounting.

Anybody that understands basic accounting knows that we are headed for a meltdown. Both parties are responsible and at the end of the day the public gets wtf it deserves.
