I claim some of it... And I don't have to worry about the government taking my shit away because if you have an escort license you can fuck for money all you want. That being said, it's abot 3000 dollars a year to have that and you get no benefits or safety net whatsoever. I own a car and a condo so I do in fact pay taxes regardless. I drink enough alcohol that it probably evens out anyway. Alcohol is taxed to death up here in the north pole.

Do you feel like you earned it, and the government didn't? Is it more personal to you since you fucked for it instead of waiting tables?

I've never known a single waiter/waitress that reported all of their tips,.

Missy Mariposa is not shocked and knows exactly what some rich people pay I hold myself to a higher standard than that and prefer and do the right thing. I'm not a special snowflake who should be exempt from paying.
As I said in the other thread, I would like to buy a home one day. Verifiable income is a good thing. I bought my car in cash (I think interest is stupid on a 4 figure purchase) and all of the work I've put into it (also a 4 figure number) also in cash. I bought my furniture outright and my incall furniture on credit at a different store. I have a credit score in the range of "good" and 3 years of steadily rising income so far - the "American Dream" is in my reach because of being honest on my tax return.
At the end of the year I claim my expenses (only travel, I think deducting things like "condoms" and "lube" is downright stupid unless you're in a place like Canada) and sometimes even get a nice refund since I'm also a student, tax credits, etc!

They STILL tear you apart for licensing in Calgary I was hoping that had changed. Agency licensing prices are a JOKE. I know touring girls have to screen so hard because of the licensing issues which is actually why I've never worked there.

Stupid. IRS attributes income to waiters/waitresses based on the income of the restaurant. They use several different formulas. I'm sure failing to file the appropriate forms as a waiter/waitress throws up a red flag.

so if all of the additional income an escort makes were to come from one or two generous sugar daddies how would she pay taxes on that? It's cash, there are no receipts and she has no deductions. They take her word for it?

I don't understand tax law. It's one of the few subjects that makes me feel utterly stupid. I think the government makes it purposely confusing so they can crew as many people possible out of their money.

Well, if the IRS targets you, they have ways of figuring out how much "cash" you got. Al Capone was never jailed for racketeering and murder, but for tax evasion. All they have to do is look at your stuff: your car, your jewelry, your home (mortgage/rent), your other monthly expenses. If you have "no visible means of support" then they can become really suspicious. If you just "started" there is plenty of time to get your system in order.
Go see a hobby friendly bookkeeper/CPA, and s/he will get you set up so you can avoid problems. To find one, post a query in the ISO forum in your area, and ask for referrals to be pmd to you. I don't have access to PR, but you might be able to find help there, too.

Whatever. I guess you engage in tax evasion also since you seem to know all about it. How patriotic. Country's going to hell in a hand basket and you refuse to support it.

Waiters and waitresses make under $3/hr without tips. We don't. Apples and oranges imo.

Yep. It's on *YOU* to prove where the money came from. Not them. If you can't prove the money came from a legitimate source, they can pillage you with no recourse.
I agree that if you don't understand taxes, find a hobby friendly accountant to get yourself setup.

I never said that but appreciate the assumptions. My accountant is very straight edge, he wouldn't be willing to manipulate numbers for me nor am I in a cash business. I'm just realistic about how shit works.
It's like you put effort into making sure that everyone around you is as miserable as you are. Get out of your box for once and enjoy life a little.
Mods need love too, give me a hug buddy

Do you really think tax evasion is this countries problem? Think again, please..
You get raped everywhere, we are taxed to death! Do you really know how much taxes I pay in NY? Funny Ive paid taxes for 20 years and you know what its gotten me? Nothing.. when I needed the tax money I put in for help.. guess what I got no help, opps we are out of money!!! Oh thats right that other country that has nothing to do with us needed it..
Our government is a joke. And for your comment in the other thread I will probally pay more than you and your +1 fan club in taxes so you can both kiss my butt. Im sorry I dont support the way this country is run and that the government rapes you for taxes.. they tax EVERYTHING!! YOUR hard earned money goes in their pocket to foolishly spend while one struggles to put food on the table.. one that struggles to feed her kids because she doesnt qualify for food stamps or to get her rent paid by $50. If she wasnt taxed to death maybe she could because that program to help her in which she paid taxes just to screws her.. Now she becomes a hooker or has to go on welfare just to live.

Amen sister! Fundamentally we have a congress that doesn't enforce the laws that are already on the books, that grossly overspends, whose only focus is keeping their own buts in office. We have become a society that is too reliant on government and has lost focus on what should be the true mission of government. We are a society that is deficient on personal responsibility and accepting of the realities of our own actions. As for me, there is hardly any way I can skim on my taxes. Everything I make gets reported and comes to me via 1099's, K-1's, W-2's, etc. When you consider federal income tax, state income tax, severance taxes, payroll taxes, my tax rate is will in excess of 50%. There is nothing that I can do but vote so I do that and move on. I am very fortunate to have the tax issues I have. That said, I don't look at life as the glass is half full or if the glass is half empty. I count my blessings to have a glass. If you don't have a glass, you don't have squat
