Default Oligarchy of the well-to-do by any other name is...

..."upscale" fascism.

COG, by accident or design, is sort of on to something. The definition he found is the classic definition of fascism. Now, his path to salvation through Ron Paulism is nothing short of silly but it's a good idea to keep one eye on fascist outcroppings. Fascism garnered a lot of traction post-WWI because of economic uncertainty and the need of the "masses" for order. It nearly worked here in the good ol' USA during that time, too. Just keep in mind that corporatism is merely fascism's baby brother.

Large organzations, be they governments, trade unions or the Rotary Club (well, not really - the Rotary Club?) that are left unchecked and unsupervised always overstep towards totalitarianism because it is expedient. There were certain things the Patriot Act addressed post 911 that were needed to shore up safety concerns but, rightly, it was greeted for what it is - a potentially dangerous instrument. The key is "potentially." As is the case with it and any other law or movement based in widespread reaction to widespread fear, the need to enact broad, sweeping measures overpowers certain freedoms that are deemed to be temporarily expendable. It's just how people go, to coin a phrase. Consequently, the need to have some watching it and pointing out excesses is necessary. Now, before you righties spin out of control and wind up writhing on the floor - that's just one example and there are some from the left, too.

The "problem" is that we're here mimicing cable network talk shows with all of their hyperbole and the excitement that can be generated by tossing grenades and playing the "gotcha" game. See you bozos in a couple of weeks or so. I've got my dose of temporary insanity and, no, there STILL aren't communists under every bed like Joe McCarthy claimed in the '50s.

Republicans and Democrats fear Ron Paul more than each other not because he can win the nomination or the election but because he is one of the few that will tell it like it is. There are those that would call him an isolationist but he is far from that and they know it. How many wars , conflicts, whatever you want to call it have we been in that congress declared war. Which of the previous have paid the United States for the cost of intervening or supporting.

We could tak about money. Why does the government consistently change the formula for determining the inflation index and why is oil and gasoline at such a high price when there is a glut of both. could it be because the Fed is printing money to buy the debt of the US and thus inflating the supply without any backing. The establishiment thinks this is a great way to reduce the cost of debt but it also steals your savings and wealth. Obama loves this so he can do his redistyribution.

The above are just a few examples of the things that Ron Paul points out not to mention the discussion of the rampant disregard for our constitution.

They weren't under the bed: they were working at Los Alamos.

So you don't mind that the country is becoming fascist? Ok, that's your prerogative.
