My mom is of the same mind as Ava's and Skylar's. While not her first choice, she understands that I'm doing work that suits me, makes me happy and fills a need in the world. Her concern is for my safety alone - and that as much because of the travel I do as with the work I chose.

I grew up knowing that she was for legalization, didn't see anything really wrong with the profession and had a good understanding of the motivations behind more societally sanctioned forms of transactional sex but didn't think escorting was a path worthy of much respect. She's changed her mind on that last part; I'm fortunate in that regard.

I think that questions like these appeal to a few instinctive and conditioned desires: having successful and respected children, keeping them safe, and guarding daughters' sexuality. As understandable as these urges are I was raised with the core value of making my own choices and know that if I had children I would raise them the same way.

As long as they were making choices for the right reasons and practicing the profession ethically and with a good head on their shoulders, I wouldn't worry (too much).

I would have to say I would not like her choice of a profession. However, I would come to terms with it as long as she's safe and not living off of daddy's money.

It is rare, and I am blessed with that. I could never, ever tell my other relatives that because again they would blame my parents like " What did you do to fuck your daughter up and she chose to be an escort?"

And that being said, I would NEVER encourage a female relative or friend ( or if I had a daughter) to go into escorting. It's hard on the psyche, emotionals,and soul at times, and while the money is superb, there is a price to be paid for everything. I've been single for many years because I have not had the energy in any way to get involved with a civvie man. My choice to be an escort stemmed from a long fascination with reading books and articles about how much money they made, from movies I saw on tv ( such as the Mayflower Madam) . When I see these ads for mother/daughter duos I often wonder...are they really mother and daughter or just advertising something attention-getting and taboo?

I think most of us would be reluctant, and the truth be told I don't that I would be supportive.... Tough question and it is all a guess unless you actually are put in that position.

I think this is a very difficult and thankless job at times. And the thought of my daughter(which I don't have) sucking some fat rude bastards dick would turn my stomach. There's a reason so many chicks come and go. This isn't as easy as just sucking dick. There is a mental toll. And I would worry about that.

20 years from now you never know, hobbying a bit on the side may be as common and mainstream as folk with tax knowledge offering services to do returns. Free enterprise.

In the year 2030 some women may rationalize - "I'm not a virgin, I've been dissapointed with men, I've had multiple sex partners, what is holding me back?" And hobby a bit for spending money.

My suggestion is to surround the kids with as much "anti-prostitution" doctrine as possible. Forget the hypocrisy because genetics are a bitch - you can fight it all you want but at times that shit wins out unless there are dynamic circumstances involved. For instance me, if I found true love before discovering what hobbying is in my late 20's I would have no desire for this.

[Note to add: IMHO, every job has its pluses and minuses. You work in a restaurant, you get free food, the hours are a bitch. You work for an airlines, you get free travel, but you're rarely at home. I support my kids and their choices as much as possible. I may make it known I would prefer they make a different choice but I will never turn my back on them. Since I have sons I do not have to face this issue but if I did I would like to think I would support her while trying to make sure she sets herself up financially so that she has options.
