Default The dreaded 2 call system

Does anyone else get frustrated by the 2 (or even 3) call system. I have seen many providers at their homes and appreciate the trust they have in me not to abuse that knowledge. Once I have passed your screening and we've set a date, why not give me the address and I'll see you at the time we've agreed on. I often feel like a cop in a kidnap movie, being bounced from one pay phone to another with the ransom in a bag. If I call you from the corner, how am I less of a threat 2 minutes later calling from the parking lot? Just curious.....

Many ladies send clients to a place they can observe them from, especially when going to a residence. It is an extra measure of security for a first time visit. After the client has been there once, however (in the instance of a private residence), usually the only reason to continue the practice is to gain time / or give warning. However, many ladies that work form "home" will continue to ensure their clients haven't been compromised between visits and they want to make sure they are not bringing anyone with them - so they will continue to "eyeball" the client prior to saying it is okay to come in . . . Paranoia can run deep, especially with the added stress of using one's primary residence. It may be the lady wants to make sure that the place is picked up - to double check and tidy things - or have time to make sure to get out of the shower, etc. (one provider always liked to meet her clients at the door in a towel freshly showered - she sometimes used a two call to accomplish that) - or, perhaps maybe she is just a bit scatterbrained . . . though, truthfully, in many instances (certainly not ALL), it is to make sure the husband or boyfriend (or previous client) or driver or security or lackey or WHOMEVER, can stay until the last minute and have time to dart out discreetly. Sometimes, with secured entrances at certain buildings, it is to have a few minutes to meet you there at the entrance and not just 'buzz you in', in an attempt to control the attention you may bring . . . there are many reasons.

The bottom line though is because for whatever reason, those two or three minutes allow her to accomplish something and give her an opportunity to ask the client to delay, if needed (to ask the client to wait a minute or two). Whatever that something is, it is important for her to have the few minutes notice for her convenience, so - indulge her. In the grand scheme of things, it is pretty insignificant. Even if it is just for her a final confirming step that her client is actually arriving - it is how she chooses to do business. In many respects, that is all one needs to know . . . not to sound like a bitch, but it is true.

I work exclusively from hotels - I would never dream of incurring the liability of using my private residence, although, I have often thought of procuring a small studio apartment only for recurring, regular clients. I ALWAYS use a two call for one reason, and one reason only - because experience has taught me that shit happens, even up to the moment the client walks in (sometimes after - LOL) . . . . I've had hot water quit working, shower drains stop up and odors and construction that has caused me to move rooms. Also, I want an additional opportunity to communicate with my client and base discussion on my surroundings AT THAT MOMENT - to let my client know how it might be best to approach my room - if there are maids on the floor, etc. - and, I might ask my client to grab me a bottle of water as a favor or something else, or have the client delay until management or maintenance leaves the floor or my immediate area . . . Like I said - MANY reasons, all designed to keep the transaction smooth, safe and comfortable for both parties.

There's nothing dreaded in making sure things are ready and safe for a client's arrival, is there? Also, there are things I only do in the two or three minutes immediately preceding a client's arrival (to ensure they have a great experience when they walk in). If I or my client am running late, if I broke a nail (it REALLY happens) - then I have a minute or I can ask him to give me a minute.

Now, I can see a lady abusing it (the two call) and using the second (or even third) call to not answer or back out - if that happens frequently, she should be called out for it. At Plaza we had a gal that used a two call to turn away clients that she didn't feel she was physically attracted to by having them call her from somewhere she could see them . . . NOT cool, and she got the boot rather quickly.

BTW - There are also ladies that will safeguard their actual address and send you to a specific area where they have taped a pole with colored duct tape or use some other identifying feature for you to report back - to ensure you are actually coming . . . the religious right has outed many a ladies' location by simply pulling a no show after they get an address - and LE loves to gather intel on addresses, etc. - the last thing either of them wants to do is burn gas and time do a two call just to pull a no show in order to get an address (especially when they may be seen) . . . Which (off topic) has always boggled me in why a lady would use a private residence and incur that additional liability for herself and especially her clients (that which I just mentioned, plus stalkers, etc.) . . . but, that is another (as in a whole other) thread.

Seriously though, unless she is running you on a scavenger hunt, if that is the way she wants it (with two calls), is it truly that big of a deal to make the accommodation in order for you to get the desired end result?

Kisses,

- Jackie

I use a multi-call system depending on the client and situation.

I have had more then one person knock on my door while I am in the shower, painting my nails, putting on eyeliner, etc. when it is up to 40 minutes before the appointment.("I was in the area early") I think it starts things off on a bad vibe if you have to stand in the hall for 5 minutes knocking because I can't hear you over the shower. Also, I will a smidge annoyed if I am forced to answer the door with make-up on only half my face, which has happened. lol
My other reason is that a lot in the hobby world can happen in 10 minutes. Do you want to show up at my room when there is a fire inspector and hotel manager? (It happened, the strobe light fire alert thing went off spontaneously and would not stop. lol) I have had more then one NCNS/ short notice cancelation. I do not feel safe hanging in a room and/or booking another call when someone NCNS me, will not respond to me and knows my room #. I feel like if you are in the parking lot the chances of the appointment falling through are slim to none.

I try to make it as painless as possible, taking into consideration your travel time and direction. USUALLY.......giving general area/close intersection way ahead of the appointment, the actual hotel 30ish minutes before and room# when you arrive. In my opinion it is just another safety precaution. Just my .02 LOVE YOU ALL XOXO

I'm not a fan of the system myself - but I completely respect those who are especially if they work out of their home. If I worked out of my home or hotel I'd use something similar just to avoid someone showing up randomly. If it helps put your provider at ease, suck it up and make the calls - you'll have a MUCH more rewarding session if your provider is comfortable and able to show you a good time.

But I don't work out of my home, so I just put "please do not knock early as I spend every last minute readying myself and location for our visit" in my emails. I've never had anyone knock earlier than 5 minutes but YMMV and unfortunately the bad apples make things like 2 and 3 call systems necessary.

Edit: I will say I *have* used the system - but in Canada where screening was less common and it was more of a safety issue than legal.
