Default Does Erotic Hypnosis Work?

Ok, I'm not exactly sure where to put this thread but the folks on ECCIE tend to be pretty open minded and curious folks so I thought I would start here. I'm wondering if hypnosis (erotic hypnosis) can work to program people to want to do things that they currently have a mental hang up about. For instance, my SO has a cum aversion. She's grossed out by the thought of male cum and it's obviously a mental block. I know some women love the taste of cum but I think that love is probably as much of a mental thing as my SO's aversion is a mental thing otherwise we'd have cum flavored gum, drinks, etc. I know that's pretty weird but it would be great if I could hire a hypnotist and open up a huge realm of pleasure that I don't have access to now with my SO.

I posted this in another forum and someone thought I meant that I was trying to get my SO to do things while under hypnosis while she didn't know what's going on and that's not the case. I'm not talking about doing this under hypnosis, rather can hypnosis be used if someone willingly wants to get through a mental block. If I want to quit smoking, hypnosis is one technique that can be effective for some people to help them quit and my understanding is that it places a suggestion in the subconscious to have a different mental response to certain situations. I'm just wondering if the same principles can be applied to sexual matters assuming everyone is ok with it and willing. My SO and I were talking about this and wondered if it would work. She's totally open to it but don't know if it would make any difference or not. Nothing dubious about it.

Well, despite my hang ups on the whole process of hypnosis. This does seem like something that is plausible. People have been trying to debunk hypnosis for a while, and researched how hypnotists entertainers actually get people to quack like a duck. The key is willingness. When someone volunteers to go on stage to be hypnotized they already proven they will be. The funny thing is that it doesn't matter why they went on the stage, to quake like a duck or to prove the guy wrong, the key desire is attention. And if your subconcious (sp) thinks quaking like a duck will get that attention it will happen. So the technique works in self help fields. But not for everyone. Studies show it has about a 50/50 rate of working. They are not completely sure why. Some say the person doesn't really want to change, that they were just pressured to try. Others think that deeper psychological issue may be presnt that are strong enough to counteract the hypnosis, such as repressed traumatic memories. But do not let a hypnotist dig around in your head for evidence of those. There is one thing that has been proven about hypnosis, it can be used to create false memories. The human memory is not static it changes quite easily, so easily in fact a someone saying they saw events differently can alter your own memories of an event. And hypnosis is damn easy way to do it.

So, short version, it could work. There is about a 50/50 chance it will. But if it doesn't it could mean she has a deep routed psychological issue or it could mean that deep down she just really really thing cum is yucky. Hope that helps.

It could be fun, say a word and a provider could start clucking like a chicken. Oh wait, what if she hears the word while giving a bj, she might start pecking at my dick.

On second glance, it might be better to leave the mind alone.

Read the book, "The Forked Tongue" by Flagg which, IMHO, has the best description & how on erotic hypnosis that I have ever read. It is available on Amazon. It is not for everyone. Here is an excerpt from the introduction:

This book is not comforting; it does not reassure. It does not teach anything a decent person needs to know. It is a book about BDSM, but it will teach you nothing about tying knots, swinging floggers or spanking. It does not attempt to reach the vanilla public. This book addresses control, it addresses change. The recreational uses of humiliation, conditioning, psychological torture, hypnotism and interrogation techniques are explored and laid bare, broken into usable steps and understandable, applicable concepts. It is a workshop of ruin, the tools necessary to cement lasting alteration and unforgettable experiences for those few who truly crave them.

I'm almost surprised that you mentioned this book because it's really pretty rough in terms of just the type of book that it is. Frankly, it's the most hardcore BDSM book that I've ever read in terms of his philosophy.

I noticed that the OP started a topic about this same thing in Another Realm. In the past, there have been a few topics presented about hypnosis and here is one of them:

http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=298129

There isn't much information in them and for that, I'm kindof surprised. But there is a link to a lady that might be interesting to the readers here:

http://www.isabellavalentine.com/howhypnotizable.asp

Don't really know anything about her but it's a very interesting site!

To answer your question, I just don't know much about hypnosis.

"Look Into My Eyes" by Peter Masters is a book that I have about using hypnosis to bring out the best in your sex life. I don't know what I think of the book, though.

I've always kindof figured that if you're open to the ideas that someone hypnotizing you is suggesting, it might be more successful. Other than that, not many thoughts about it. But good luck!

Elisabeth
