Default Thank Goodness the Government is Protecting Us

Wow! Who'd have ever thought an Amish farmer would be dealing in contraband? At least the Feds shut him down so he can no longer harm his neighbors with his illegal product. Go Feds! Shut those dealing bastards down.

The contraband? Milk. Yup, the Feds are protecting us from milk. Soon we will have black market milk, milk cartels, and rehab for milk addicts.

So the Fed's enforce a law meant to protect US citizens and you're against it? No TV watching, no cable, anti-government, anti-US...I think I found your role model....

Yeah, Sa_fartman. Protecting us from milk. I'll bet even you have ancestors who managed to drink milk, and survive.

Are you serious? MILK!? The government now thinks it can mandate what MILK I can drink?

You are truly a piece of work. You're not a funny as FastGoon, but you're getting there.

Tell me, what is it about freedom that you hate?

I was laughing too hard at Sa_fartman's post to notice that he compared me to the Unabomber. LOL!

At least he didn't call me a neocon.

And I don't think the Unabomber ever put a nice picture of Hello Kitty in any of his communications. So there!

I wonder if I would get arrested when I eat one of my favorite dishes,

The meat is raw
The egg is raw
The onions are raw
The capers are raw

N.C. Food ‘Inspector’ Sends Girl‘s Lunch Home After Determining It’s Not Healthy Enough

. . . to meet USDA guidelines. That means lunches must consist of one serving of meat, one serving of milk, one serving of grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables, even if the lunches are brought from home . . . a turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips, and apple juice . . .for the inspector on hand that day, didn’t meet the healthy requirements.

COG, good try, but you make a gross misrepresentation, and then start spouting about 'freedom'.

The issue is not milk, it is pasteurisation. It is about controlling typhoid and diptheria.

It may not have come to your notice, but science has progressed in the last 200 years, and we need government and laws to enforce the sensible application of that science for the protection of (un)sensible people.

Next you will start telling us the government shouldn't have a role collecting taxes and building sewers in our cities, because we should all have the right to shit in the street.

Then you will have something against innoculations for children, because 'none of my children died of whooping cough'. Errr - ever thought that argument might have a few gaping holes in it? Just to spell it out, a) the sample size of yoru children is too small b) you children are safer because other people are taking the innoculations.

Same stupidity with unpastereurised milk. Are you seriously suggesting eveybody in the US should drink unpasteurised?

Didn't you know that sometimes people have to be protected from their ignorance?

Do you have foot and mouth disease in the US? Do you have strict rules, if there is an outbreak, on movement of cattle and killing any herd with the disease? Ever wondered why?

Oh, and nice try. Throw in a few strawmen, then knock them down, and congratulate yourself on your superior wisdom. No one mentioned sewers or vaccines. We are talking about what choice of MILK the government should allow.

You want government to make that choice for you. I don't. I don't drink raw milk because I DON'T LIKE raw milk. If someone LIKES raw milk, they should be able to drink it. IT'S MILK FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

It's not something dangerous, like a light bulb or anything like that. People have drunk raw milk for centuries. Maybe even some of your ancestors.

Are there no larger threats the government could be spending time and effort on? Is the consumption of raw milk a burning issue? This is insane.

It proves the government is udderly out of control.

Here's a link to the whole story. The inadequate mother of this 4 year old, packed a lunch for her daughter. How uncaring! But the kind, benevolent Government Inspector was there, thank the Lord! He forced her to take a government approved lunch which included the required vegetable. The little girl was so scared, she ended up not eating anything, except a couple chicken "nuggets" approved by the government.

Thank God for our Government intervening on behalf of children with uncaring and ineffective mothers! Sending her to school with such awful things as a banana and turkey sandwich! No vegetable?! Child Endangerment, that's what it is! I swear to God, if that mother ever forces her daughter to drink raw milk, I hope she rots in jail for life!

In the words of Thomas Jefferson: "When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When government fears the people, there is liberty."

Welcome to tyranny, my friends.

Key words are "lunches must consist of one serving of meat, one serving of milk, one serving of grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables"

1) Turkey sandwich with cheese: dairy, grain and meat

2) a banana and an Apple juice drink: two servings of fruit or vegetables

The mother met all of the requirements only to have her child abused by a pinhead bureaucrat.

Essence is right. Before pastuerization everyone who drank milk died at some time. I can't prove a correllation between milk drinking and death but it is hard to argue with the results. Milk continues to kill people even with treatment. Find any obituary, contact the family and ask them if the deceased has ever drank milk and you will come to your own conclusions. I have to say something about carrots as instruments of death and don't forget second hand milk.

Actually my own mother sold "raw" when I was a kid. I knew my mother was a maverick but federal criminal??? Wow!

You're right. My Grandfather drank raw milk as a child, and he died while in his 90's. In fact, he had eaten carrots just a few months before he died. Astonishing!

Typical idiot arguments from extremists. Whether it's al Qaeda or cog. Same diff. I hear Mexico has a pretty lax government cog. Maybe more your speed.

"You're right. My Grandfather drank raw milk as a child, and he died while in his 90's. In fact, he had eaten carrots just a few months before he died. Astonishing!"

That's the stupidest statement you've made. Lets your try your infantile logic...Oh yeah and I've driven home drunk before and I didn't die. Why do they make it illegal?
