Assumptions from Lack of Reviews--A Different Perspective
When I saw the title of Dondo's thread, I thought it was going to be a question for the providers about what assumptions they make about hobbyists who have no, or only a few, reviews.
I didn't want to hijack his thread. I've seen posts by providers that indicate that they place some value on the number or quality of reviews a hobbyist writes.
What assumptions, if any, do you make, and does it affect whether you see the hobbyist?
Hobbyists, do you have any opinions about how providers react to few or no reviews?

My ECCIE Reviews
|
I look at a few things when it comes to a guy's reviews. If he ALWAYS says "no" then I figure he is probably suuuuuuuper hard to please. I mean, once or twice getting a lemon is one thing but if you have more than that, I'll just pass. Either you have poor judgement or you are too picky. Another thing? Is he crude in his reviews? One member here was titling his reviews in just the grossest ways. I don't want to be associated with that because he thinks he is being clever. Those are the only real deal breakers.
But it also gives you an idea of what he wants and expects. If every single review has DATOx2 on there I can predict that he will be looking for that. I have definitely declined someone on P411 (not quite a review) because Greek was Very Important, his reviews all included it, and his Okays were all ladies that are known for it. I totally get that he likes it but I won't do that and shouldn't he spend his time and money on a girl that will give him what he wants?

My ECCIE Reviews

Most of the gentlemen I see do not participate in writing reviews so that is not a must have for me when screening.
Also, SG is right, if a guy has a bunch of 'no' recommendations on his reviews, I'll probably pass.

As Allie mentioned, most all of the gentlemen I see do not participate in writing reviews and those that do (or want to) usually type something up for the men's lounge that is not a "formal" review . . . You would be amazed the number of gentlemen that lurk here on ECCIE but could never bring themselves to consider writing a review, let alone even posting "hello".
Lilianna brings up an important point - I have several times declined an appointment based on what the gentleman has written in his P411 member profile or based on his board presence (including but not limited to any review he may have written). I believe that we all have from time to time . . . for instance, if you are professing a desire for a service I don't offer or an activity I am not comfortable with - or if you're just too "over the top" on P411 and the entire profile is overtly sexually descriptive (and not indicative of what I would expect that a true gentleman would write), I'll decline. As was stated, the client should get what they want, and if they would be better served elsewhere I'll be the first to tell them so - and make a recommendation . . . I would MUCH rather you NOT be a client, than be a client disappointed!
Also, I too should be comfortable knowing that you are mature and discreet enough for a professional rendezvous. Things like "I wanna cum on your face 'cause my lady won't let me" in your P411 profile or repetitive, argumentative and/or childish postings (including use of graphic sexual imagery) on ECCIE or any other board, is absolutely not conducive to my wanting to spend time with you. I am a careful businesswoman and an empathetic and caring professional Escort that prefers to spend time with gentlemen that will appreciate all the effort I go through, not only in matters such as maintaining a safe and upscale incall location, working to ensure my client's safety, etc., - but also a gentleman that will be appreciative of the level of true intimacy I can provide during our time together.
If all you want to do is be a squirrel and catch a nut, please stay at home and use your hand.
Now, I realize that the aforementioned didn't address the OP's question specifically, as it was a continuation of the natural progression of discussion in the thread . . . so, to answer the OP's question directly: If you have a pattern of "no" reviews, I probably won't see you . . . if you exhibit a pattern of reviews that detail activities I don't participate in professionally (my personal life notwithstanding), I probably won't see you . . . if you have a pattern of overtly sexually descriptive reviews bordering on "word-porn" (usually followed by a lot of "that-a-boy" postings from a select few), I probably won't see you - or any of the gentlemen urging on such immature behavior. I prefer professional gentlemen clients that know the meaning of the word discretion and exhibit a measurable level of maturity, as I mentioned.
Finally, a new client inquiry with the client having no reviews makes not one bit of difference to me . . . in fact, I may prefer it. Leaving reviews is not the "standard" or the "norm" . . . I have seen many a gentleman from P411 . . . admittedly, more than I can count, as many gentlemen prefer to not accumulate too many "okay's" on that board (having twenty or thirty "okay's" can limit the number of ladies that may be willing to see you - just as might having too few) . . . I have probably visited ten times over the number of gentlemen from P411 I have actually left an "okay" for, and I would say that in all of the profiles I have read (and I read them all, when they inquire and offer their ID), the MAJORITY of them state that they do not / will not review.
Kisses,
- Jackie

As far as Ladies go I can only speak for myself...I have a no review policy which my gentlemen respect, I have had many reviews in the past to verify who I am, and to give a lil information. That is all the purpose of any review has ever had for me. This is a private business. My clientele and I like things that way. Bragging and details is ego strokes for men. No lady will ever say be more detailed in your review, tell everything play by play." lol Men seem to enjoy doing that as well as reading...if you wanna know so bad schedule some time lol
As for men ..I wont see a man who has tons of reviews. If I wanted to sleep w all those ladies I would have myself. lol jk jk ( No I dont swing that way, and No Im not saying anything bad about any providers ) Same as you dont wanna be the 10th guy shes seen that day... I wanna limit the risks I take for myself. Also I want a just a sm handful of regs. to spoil w my attention, I cant keep up w more then a small few. A man w tons of reviews wants to taste every flavor and is not gonna stick to one. Thats not who Im looking for. Only a select few.
Just sayn xoxo

I see alot of good points...but it seems to be a bit of a double standard...I believe
If a woman has 20-30 reviews or more based on how long they have been in the BZ...some great providers get 5-7 reviews a month and maybe it hurts them maybe not....But I guess my question is having alot of reviews means how many men were seen that didnt write reviews...I think most guys know this
Me personally I have 17 okays on 411 and will see a few girls each month...Im kinda getting to the point that I feel like I dont need or want anymore....so I see that point!
Why is having too many okays any different than having a lot of reviews or even if you dont men know you as a provider are seeing other men?
Mary you said you didnt want to feel like your having sex with all those other women...its the same way for the man....who is kissing the same lips that just did bbbjtc on someone else a week or days earlier
Just my .2!
OH and BTW I do agree on the reviews being so graphic....I think a well written review can show a girl thats there is a charm and an educated side to that guy...that alot of guys dont have

Sometimes the art of writing can be far more effective way of communicating than speaking....and yes a lot can be said without graphic details, IMO

Is that your preference (not having a lot of reviews written) or just by happenstance?

For the newbies, some of the postings above show that what is in a ROS is not going to remain private. You need to remember that when writing your review.

To Review or Not To Review
I have to say that when I very first started on here,
I noticed there where guys that have been around the board since the start, that had lots of post but no reviews.
I like some others thought that was bull shit that they did not review the ladies..
but after being here awhile, I came to realize those same guys are the ones that where also part of ASPD...
and in being so they learned back then what I have learn now...
Doing reviews and posting is a two egde sword and it cuts both ways.
Doing the reviews and posting on the board lets the ladies and guys get to know you, they get to see what your about, what your like in away..
It can make it easier to find a girl that will see you..
But on the other hand, posting and doing review on the board lets the guys and gals get to know you, see what your about..
ect. ect. which could also be a bad thing.. lets face it - once you post something it is on here forever!
So now I'm at that point that I want to do reviews but at the same time I do not..
I've have been writing and rewriting one but just dont know if I want to post it..
She was great in every way - she already has resent reviews that say everything that Im going to say -
so the only real reason to write it would be for me to pound on my chest to say ME TARZAN and I JUST DID JANE.. really what is the point.
I am not saying I will not ever write another review.. I am saying that I now know why some do not.. and I have greater respect for them now.
As for using reviews and posting as a screening tool - hell yes the providers do - and if you as a client don't use all the tools for your research,
and get burnt account so so didn't not do such and such. that is your fault not hers..
Call me for WKing but damn guys if all of her reviews says she does not DFK and you go see her and give her a 'NO' account she did not DFK..
YOUR A FUCKING IDIOT and your review should be deleted.. sorry but it just amazes me how many guys do that..
Had a lot more to say but figured that was good for now..

To those that do take the time to review....respect. And many times it helps us decide who to/not see, which in the long run is a winner for everyone.
To those of us, that do not review...which I believe the majority do not place reviews (Fire Sp. will correct me if I'm wrong)...there is a myriad of reasons why we do not. No explanation is required, at all.
To those who think it is BS that we don't post reviews...either from inexperience (see Elmo) or ignorance. There are many ways we contribute to the site via our paid membership, posting thoughts, seeing providers who get solid reviews, to name just a few.

I usually PM the older guys and ask them if they want to share their opinions about a lady because more than likely they've seen the lady in question. If they share it awesome, if they don't it's whatever it's all about discretion but I've only had one person tell me they'd rather not share information about a lady which was alright. There's certain people I have a certain amount of respect for regarding their opinions about the hobby and the ladies so just because they don't post reviews doesn't mean they don't have information to share. The only reason I look at reviews is to see what the lady has to offer and if it matches what I want in a session if it doesn't I move on to the next provider.
