On the main discussion forum we talked about this. It CAN work but it takes a LOT of work, does that make sense? I married one of my clients and had a beautiful wedding ceremony. My parents knew how we met and my bridesmaids and maid of honor LOL were all girls who worked with me at the time at an agency. It didn't last because my husband lost his job, and I had to go back to work providing, and he would throw it in my face all the time about my work even though that very line of work was what was paying our bills. He got too comfortable with it, and I left after a short period of time.
After that, I dated three men, and one lasted for almost four years. I never wanted any of these men to 'support' me so that I 'didn't have to work' but they never offered either, and the alternative therefore was I wanted to work and have my own money, and buy my own place, which I did.
I think what these men might have been dealing with was this: if I could fall in love ( and vice versa) with a client, then what was to stop me from falling in love with another and dumping the current boyfriend? But I continually told them that the men I saw through business was purely that...business. I reminded the men I began dated ( and the one I married) that even we began as 'business' and as time progressed, well, you can't help human emotions.
Ultimately, these relationships never did work out for me, and I know some providers just balk at the thought of ever getting involved with their clients just as some clients could never imagine seeing a provider as a girlfriend knowing she's banging other men. That being said just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for others.
I have been single now for five years and loving it, and believe it or not, as odd as this sounds, there are some regular clients where we go on dates for a set fee and it's like what I call the Boyfriend Experience...just as you gentleman call us ladies the GFE...we both end up with good experiences on both ends. And really, sometimes you have to wonder, what IS the difference between a paid 'date' and then some civilian girl you might meet where you have to end up paying for dinner, buying her gifts, and flowers and all that, in order to try to get into her pants? ( er, her skirt LOL)? The lines get blurred. It's all so simple, and yet so complex, which is the paradox of this business.
