CELEBRATING THE CAJUN WAY

It was a Cajun Christmas, and all through the house all the children were screaming; claiming they had seen a mouse.
Grandma was cooking some gumbo stew and whipping up her famous rue.
Grandpa had his rifle, there was word on the street! There was a crock on the loose and people he would eat!
Aunt Susie was stirring up the moon shine. Uncle chuck was shucking the corn.
All in preparation to celebrate the day our savior was born.
WE DID IT UP BIG. WE DID IT UP GRAND BUT NOT WITHOUT HIS BLESSING ON EACH AND EVERY HAND.
We gave God our thanks and each other gifts & hope with our actions his name we did lift.
When each belly was full and all had calmed down. We took all the left overs and headed down town. At the first person we saw who seemed all alone, we gave what we had and headed back home.
Then all the children were tucked in their bed with exhausted cheer.
Then all the elders made toast to a start of a NEW YEAR.
