You know that if the democrats and Obama had bothered to approve (or submit) a budget in the last 800+ days then maybe they would have discovered that Bush (and Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, and LBJ) had been cooking the books. This is just one of those little iggling things that the Tea Party has been complaining about. I ended the list at LBJ because he did the greatest act of embezzlement in our nations history when he took the promised money from Social Security and folded it in to the general fund to offset the cost of the Vietnam War. Trillions have been wasted.

I did notice that the NYT didn't think that counting savings from something that hasn't happened is NOT a bookkeeping gimic. Namely, counting the savings from the end of our involvement in Iraq next year when the White House has admitted that it may not happen. Nice gimic there and pure Obama.

Notice too how you distract to a comment for only the NYT. But that's another issue.

It doesn't distract away from the fact that this little "gimmick" has been going on for a long, long time with many presidents. What I pointed out (and you want to dismiss) is that Obama is coming up with new gimmicks. I also like to point out that the Tea Party is unhappy with this gimmicks whomever is doing them. If you don't like these gimmicks then maybe you should be part of the Tea Party.

Ok, so President Bush cooked the books. Now what? The fact is, someone has to fix it. The house is burning down, and the firefighters are blaming each other for starting it. Go ahead and bring Bush up on charges, but put the damn fire out first!

Speaking of distractions, JDB, why is dumars (and the rest of the "it's not my fault" left) bringing up articles that are two and a half years old? Mr Obama now has a record of performance. Let's judge him on what he has done with the economy, the budget and the deficits.

Well, considering that he has been getting nothing but smear since his announcement for running, starting with Madrassas (sp?), not to mention getting blame for everything, including but not limited to, items he had no control (helicopter fleet, for example), bombardments of "socialism", birth certificates and so, so, so many other contrived issues it would be difficult, at least, to judge.

Until it is acknowledged that the past affects the present and future, until it is acknowledged the mine field for our present economic condition were put in place long before Mr. Obama took office, no judgement can be rendered.

There is a virtual avalanche of misinformation out there directed squarely at Mr. Obama delivered by News associations of all kinds and delivered straight to email inboxes. Apparently, none of it has to be proven or even rationalized, no matter how outrageous, it is accepted as "truth".

This is not "politics as usual". There is no precedent for this nuclear attack.

Oh good grief. Poor Obama. President Bush received much worse press, and deserved it. If President Obama can't take the heat, then he needs to get out of the kitchen.

I would like to hear your definition of a "smear". Madrassas? That is actually a truth confirmed by Obama himself. Socialism? How else would you define his Alinsky driven philosophy of governance? He has surrounded himself with self admitted communists and socialists. Birth certificate? A point brought up by the Hillary Clinton democrats and not the GOP. Besides he has still not come up with the original certificate or a certified PHOTOCOPY. He has only come up with a computer generated copy which is easily altered. He was probably born in the US by why all the smoke and mirrors? Ever wonder why?
As for economics; he told Bush he wanted the TARP and the Bailout when he was a candidate and president-elect. He cannot shirk his responsibility from that and then there was the stimulus that was wasted. There is nothing in the past that made him do anything. He made that decision and should be held to it.
Did he use his Justice Department to allow convicted Black Panthers to return to their voter intimidation? Yes!
Did he use his Justice Department to force gun shops to sell military grade weapons to Mexican drug dealers? Yes!
Did his Department of Homeland Security file a report saying that returning veterans should be watched or they could become terrorists? Yes!
Did his Environmental Protection Agency just announce that they were going to shut down 20% of all coal fired power plants with regulations? Yes!
Did one of his appointed advisors (Jeffrey Immelt) just announce that he was shipping more US jobs to China? Yes!
Did his moratorium on drilling cause dozens of oil drilling rigs to leave the US and go to Brazil for several years? Yes!
Did his Imelda Marcos type wife spend millions of dollars for unnecessary trips overseas for her personal entertainment? Yes!
Did he just go out campaigning and made the US citizen pay the cost? Yes!
Did his VP call US citizens "terrorists"? Yes!
Did he just equal in 2 1/2 years what it took George Bush eight years to spend? Yes!

You can wriggle like a worm in a hot skillet but you just can't escape the truth.

Default The Barleycorn Kettle

"You can wriggle like a worm in a hot skillet but you just can't escape the truth."

If anyone knows about wriggling it would be Barleycorn. He's the best wriggler on this forum.

Hell man, I have seen people quote Barleycorn and he then denies it's what he meant. LOL

Ring......Ring....
"Hello? Is this Pot?"
"Yeah."
"Kettle called. Say's "you're black."
Yelling down to basement, Pot turns his head and says "Barleycorn, phone for ya!"

Get over yourself please. LOLOLOL

Dumars, which of the items on Barleycorn's list are you referring to when you mention conspiracies and half truths?

Again in regards to Barleycorn's list:
Alinsky - true
Socialists surrounding him - true
Birth cert - might give in on that one, but why the delays and obfuscation?
Stimulus - most agree it's a failure
Black Panthers - true
Mexican weapons - under investigation
Homeland Security - true
EPA - true
Immelt - true
Drilling - true
Imelda Obama - true (check out her number of aides)
Campaigning - true
VP comment - true
Spending - true (plus a lot more golf in those 2 1/2 years)

Boytoy! How DARE you criticize OUR President! Everyone knows all those things you mentioned are BUSH'S FAULT! President Obama has been PERFECT! In fact, he is so intellectually superior and morally pure, it is a PROVEN FACT that the President has not even had a bowel movement in over 5 years!
