Notes: Pattaya seems to be a "city of sin" with little else. Street after street has brothels, go-go bars, and so forth. I arrived in Bangkok from Phuket and discovered I had an extra day before flying back to the states; so, I took a bus from the airport to Pattaya. This is very easy, fairly fast at 1+1/2 hr, and cheap at 124B. (Another bus company is 200B.) After finding a decent hotel, I started surveying the city about 8PM until about 2AM.
The go-go bars are standard, like in Bangkok and Phuket. Lots of little girls "dancing". Many seem bored but some keep a cutsie attitude. Sometimes they take their tops off and rarely take off more. They're not especially erotic, but one can easily survey a lot of girls. All venues are overpriced: Drinks starting at 120B, girlie drinks even more, barfines of 1000B, girls 2000-3000B for LT. The go-go bar girls are generally the best looking. They seem to be "job oriented" rather than GFE. In my opinion, these venues are a waste of time and money.
To get a better price, wait until the bars close around 2AM. They're almost desperate. You can just select any unavailable ones coming out or schedule a place to meet with a girl while visiting the bar earlier. Maybe not as great a selection, but, hey, they're pretty cute! Girls who really want money will go down in price quite a bit: They will ask 2000-2500, but I quickly got them down to 1500B. Lower is possible.
The street girls are often not as good looking, unless you like a thicker Asian. Still, I did see several good looking ones. They are mostly along the shore, hanging out alone or in small groups in an obvious way. Not regulated by any owner, one doesn't know what one is going to get (in all senses) nor have recourse if something goes wrong. Still, this is a good, cheaper option. And, nothing ever seems to go wrong in Thailand.
The beer bars stereotypically have girls with looks somewhere in between go-go and street, but there's lots of variety. One can spend a lot of money on drinks, but the drinks are about 90B. I like this because one can get a feeling for the girl and get her drunk, for more fun. Still, one can rack up quite a bill. I prefer this option, but hate to pay barfines. I usually wait until the girl gets off work.
Then, there is an option mentioned only occasionally in forums like this, but it is the BEST. Ask nearly any cute woman--not working girls--for a drink. They know what that means and will proceed like a working girl. They are not worn out by the business and sometimes don't know "street prices". This is the option I ended up with this time.
