First, I realize this is an 'old' thread, but I loved the concept behind it and even more so, the chance to solidify my reasons of pursuing the 'hobby' in my own mind.
I'm single, have been in several LT relationships, almost married once, and currently not dating anyone (x the past 8 months). I'm not blowing my horn when I say this - I'm a vgl, athletic, well-educated, and easy-going man. Having a vgl gf has never been a problem, nor has fantasy/role playing or intensely satisfying sex with my previous partners.
So, why, you ask, did I decide to join the hobby?
I was downtown one weekend with a friend of mine at The W - saw what was, to me, the single most attractive woman I'd seen in years walk in with a guy that simply didn't fit the bill. My friend - recently married and recently out of the hobby - knew who she was and proceeded to expound on his several meetings with her. I simply had no prior knowledge that the hobby could provide such intimacy - nor did I realize such beautiful women were in their ranks. My ultimate goal, of course, is to eventually see THAT elegant, beautiful woman. . .and it's a goal I'm willing to work hard in order to achieve success
As I haven't actually been properly broken into the hobby yet, I can't state with authority if it will be as fulfilling as my friend found it to be. But, again, I'm anxious and glad to be a part of the community - not many groups, regardless of forum type, I've been a part of where just about all involved parties watch their/each other's 6's and moreover, have fun while still being respectful.
