Mayor: What are the plans for Freedom Fest?

Planner: We'll get three boring breakout country bands instead of national acts to save on the budget.
Mayor: Great

Planner: And we'll have two entrances, one for folks with cans and one for cash customers.
Mayor: Wonderful

Planner: And we'll put the main stage right near the entrance
Mayor: Good idea

Planner: We'll charge six tickets for beer but sell them in lots of nine. Should help with the DUI weekend program.
Mayor: Good

Planner: And we'll put the address on the web site
Mayor: Excellent

Planner: And we'll promote local bands.
Mayor: Sounds perfect.

Tuesday morning...

Mayor: How did it go?
Planner: Well there were more people than we expected because fireworks were banned all over. Who knew that?

There were only two entrances and really long lines with no signage so people waited in one line for 30 minutes then found out it was the wrong line so they had to wait another 30 minutes. Couldn't have seen that one coming.

And the main stage was so close to the entrance there was horrible congestion. Do you know what 100,000 sweaty Texans smell like?

The webmaster published the wrong address.

And the Tip Tops were from, er, Alabama.

Mayor: Trivialities. You're promoted to Government Healthcare. Did you work for the Post Office?

Does that mean if one didn't buy tickets one could not watch the fireworks?

I watched from a driveway a few blocks away. Saved a lot of trouble and traffic.
