i not sure how to pick
Its amazing how rates very from woman to woman.i have seen some on the VERY,VERY,VERY low end( like for less then you can get a case of beer) to those whom seem to think you need to pay with dimonds(other wise upwards of 5 large)per hour. How is it that one choses what rates you will set?and men how do you go about picking a high or low rate providers?

In any business, what you can charge depends on the perceived value. In this business, I'd look directly at my competitors, and see what they are charging. There are some very hot girls that charge low rates, probably because their service isn't that great or for other reasons.
Kat, you've had the same advice here a bunch of times, and you keep coming back and asking for advice in new and different ways. If you want to improve your business:
1. Lower your rates, and then keep them stable. You may provide the greatest service in the world, but being realistic, you're not going to command $200/hr or $300/hr very often. You're a BBW type, and maybe even a SSBBW type. The closest comparison in Kansas City is Plus Size Hottie, who charges around $120/hour. If you don't want to put your rates there, I understand - your body, your decision. But she does OK, and that appears to be what the market demands. And I've seen Plus Size Hottie, and there are NO gaps or issues with her service. The only problem I've ever seen with her is that sometimes she falls asleep and fails to answer the phone call. The bottom line - if you don't look like the other girls charging $300/hour, you're probably not going to get $300/hour.
2. Make it easier to contact and see you. You want to set up stuff in advance by e-mail or text, and do outcall. That makes it tougher to see you, as the guy then has to get a hotel room, etc. 95% of all transactions in this business happen like this: Guy gets horny and calls escorts in his price range until he finds one that can see him. It's not pretty, but it's true. If you demand text or email for initial contact, and then demand that the guy make room arrangements, you lose a lot of business.
3. Offer half hour rates. A lot of us have been burned so often with girls that charge for 1 full hour, and then are getting dressed again in 20 minutes, that we're reluctant to take a flyer on a full-hour rate.
4. Offer incall. If you don't want to entertain at places where you live, then investigate some nearby motels, make friends with the manager, get a rate, and that becomes your 'incall.' Then when guys call, you simply meet them there.
The bottom line, and I don't mean to be unkind - guys will jump through hoops to see a girl if:
1. She's REALLY hot (stripper or Playboy material).
2. Her service REALLY rocks and she's average looking. That happens through reviews, of course.
No offense, but reality says that you need to make some adjustments, stick with them, or get out of the business. This business isn't for everyone, I know. I'm not trying to be unkind either. I do like BBW's, as my occasional visits with Plus Size Hottie demonstrate. But I will be totally honest - I wouldn't pay as much to see her as I would to see some of the more attractive women here. The reasons that I haven't seen you yet are pretty much recapped above - too much money, too much effort.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

I think it's just business, Kat. I provide a service and have lowered my rates from several years ago when the economy was rolling along. I charge what the market will bear. If things start slowing down I charge less. When they pick up, I charge more. One of my competitors refused to budge on his rates saying he wasn't going to give it away. He lost most of his business and now works full time at Walmart. I don't know how it is for you, but I can do one small job a day at reduced rates and make more than a full time job at Walmart. I don't know you but from your recent posts it sounds like you are struggling. Maybe that has to do with pricing or something else. Maybe you should try something drastic like cutting your prices in half and see what that does for business. If it works then you have to ask yourself if you would rather continue doing what your doing at half the price or try something different. Whatever you decide, good luck!

I'd have to agree with stated post. Whatever business you are in it is always a fluid thing. I have had to adjust things in my business over time and sometimes that can mean doing something 30 or 40% less than I did it five years ago. A good friend once told me that 50% of what you would like to get is better than 100% of nothing.

I noticed that when I lowered my rates for specials sometimes I got less business. So I decided to never change my rates again.
Clients may think if you charge less, that the service won't be very good. That's just my thoughts though. I could be wrong.
I just noticed that your rate is $$$. Maybe you could knock a $ off and that would work better for you? Mine is $$ and I do just fine.
However, DON'T do anything you don't feel comfortable with. These are all just suggestions. I think every provider has the right to decide what works best for her in that aspect.

I like to offer 'specials' every so often, just to get a few more in the door. It can be body rubs, 1/2 off hour or 1/2 hour options. I find guys like a 'sale' or a 'good deal' just like anyone else. If you lower your price permenetly, make sure you are ok with that price.

Very thoughtful and well said. Kat...I have wanted to see you in the past, but you process is way too difficult. Bottom line is do what your comfortable with, but if business is not at the level that you desire, you may need to adjust the variables. Not unlike any other business or industry.

Couldn't of been said any better than kshunters' reply. Especially number 1. Kat, I'm not trying to be unkind either, but I would seriously think about following his advice. BBWs' in this local market doesn't command $$$ donation rates, that is simply being unrealistic. Know your audience, know your clientele and focus in on that.

I agree- everyone wants to feel like they are getting a good deal! I have found that when I run a special, I get almost triple the responses. For that week or so, I am pricing at a discounted rate, but I am also booking more appointments. (plus, men are more likely to return-given a good performance of course) Think about it this way - if you book one solid appointment at $$$, it may seem better upfront, BUT you are going to end up with $$$ minus expenses, so in reality, you end up with $$, and that's it. Run a special, get more responses, you could end up with $$x4, minus expenses, and you still walk away with more income. But like it has been said before, a lower permanent price needs to be something you are OK with, because if you're stressed about NOT being paid enough, your clients will be able to tell, and your performance WILL be affected. Good luck!

I would not normally say this....but seems like this provider has had similiar
threads before....with similiar solid advice given b4????
(plus isn't there also the women's powder room for help?)
There was a time I was convinced I was going to be the Yankee's starting centerfielder. But utimately I realized that was not going to happen, so I became a CPA. ...yea I know, a typical close second in childhood dreams of a career.
Some would call it a reality check, I would say it was just a POOR scouting job by the Yankees.
But there comes the time where you just realize it ain't happening.

Just a few thoughts of my own, and I'm probably going to get a lot of negative responses but I don't care. I felt compelled to say something, anyway...
There are a lot of beautiful plus sized women in the world and in this industry. Saying they are not as "hot" as a size 2 provider is just downright rude, in my opinion. There are some men who actually PREFER a woman with some meat on her bones and find them to be incredibly sexy, especially when they are comfortable in their own skin. If you're not someone who is attracted to a fuller-figured woman, well, lucky for you there are LOTS of other providers to choose from! Expecting her to lower her rates based on what you ideally think as "hot" is a major insult, imo.
Yes, perhaps she should lower her rate a little if she is unable to provide a location, since the gent has to cover the cost of a room, but other than that, I, personally, felt like the comments about her rates were out of line.
If she prefers to make initial contact through email that is her choice. Most providers have begun using that practice for new clients because it tends to help weed out the "bullshitters", as well as gives an opportunity for a gent to send his references for initial screening right up front. I, for one, don't take last minute appointments with someone I don't know, as I need time to verify their references first and make arrangements on my end. But, if we've met before, I've been known to see someone right away, if feasible!
I guess I just felt the need to defend the bigger gals, as I, for one, have struggled with my weight non-stop over the years...and thankfully no one chose to publicly criticize me for it.

I don't think anyone was truly knocking her for her size. She is a bigger girl, which she admits to herself in her avatar. Bigger girls have a different pricing scale in the market. The others were simply telling her that if she wants to remain competitive in the business, she needs to adjust to the market, just like any other business has to when the market fluctuates. If she feels she can't charge below a certain amount, yet she can't get any clients at that rate, then she probably needs to find another line of work. And I think people have been telling her that every time she posts one of these threads, does she listen? I'm not sure, since she keeps making the same threads over and over asking for the same advice.

Staci, you took the responses to her way too personal. Through your admitted need to defend the bigger gal, you failed to help Kat out in the answer she is seeking. Her initial question was how does a woman go about setting the right rates. We simply replied in which you said we were being rude. She asked, we told.
As stated earlier in this thread, this isn't the first time she came to us for similar advice. You can sugar coat and beat around the bush all you want, but until you honestly tell her that her rates are completely out of line for this market...your'e not helping her out. She has had her rates at $$ and now $$$ but has struggled from the start. If anyone has a realistic say as to a good reason why, it's a guy, as we are the customer, and we know what type of woman we will pay premium bucks for and what type we won't.
Again, I'm not trying to be mean here, but some truth needs to be spoken, which I believe is what she is looking for.
P.S. Staci, you are someone I would see in a heartbeat for the record...just sayin'

Its just a business decision. Can I make money on my product (taking into account ALL factors) in this market charging the amount I do? If yes great, if no then only a few options charge less, offer specialized services others don't, or change businesses.
