Default For all you John Radigan haters..

...Fox 4 is reporting that he's been removed from the TV booth and will go back to his old spot pre and post game. Dave Barnett takes over his spot.

Thank goodness. He's a nice guy, but he didn't have a clue as a play by play announcer.

Barnett will be better, but he's awfully plain vanilla for a team that aspires to be nationally recognized. Josh Lewin has more baseball knowledge than Barnett from what I can tell and is certainly a better play-by-play announcer. Plus, Lewin can keep the games that aren't close or drag on for hours more interesting by talking about a winder range of topics. Barnett is fine when the game is exciting, but Lewin and handle an exciting game or a boring one. That's important when you're covering all 162 games, and not just the World Series.

Lewin is too expensive for the time being...Rangers have to pay too many players and tried to pay someone who had no experience at play by play..in my opinion he wasnt given much time to pick up the craft...im sure Tom Grieve had something to do with it.

His salary may have been too expensive, but he was and is worth every penny! But I think that because he also called play by play for the San Diego Chargers, and when football started, he did every game, preseason included, so he had to be replaced on the day prior to a chargers game and the day of the chargers game, replaced by Barnett on those days, then flown in to the rangers games afterwards, too expensive on that regard.

well if they fired Lewin to save money then it was a bone head move. now they have to pay Rhadigan for two years and fired him in less than a third of one season. and will have to hire his or Barnett's replacement. they won't be saving any money.

I think Lewin moved up to the big time and deservedly so, I've seen him a couple of times on FOX nationally-televised games. He was a wonderful announcer and he and Tom Grieve played off each other well. Poor John Ratigan tried but he just made too many mistakes for the main play-by-play. He needs some time in the minors to refine his game.

Josh had the personality for a great play caller; JR doesn't. No slap on JR, he just wasn't the right guy for the chair.

Josh Lewin and Mark Elfenbein have a radio show on 105.3 the Fan from 10a-2p. It's pretty good but I don't get to listen to them very often.
