I have spoken to at least (2) or more Providers (who I have met in public) and I say to them, "I have PM'd you but I never heard from you?" Their response was:

"I don't read my PM's because I get so many nasty ones or so many bullsh** ones"

So I am thinking to myself, what a waste. These ladies use PM's for business but if they are afraid to read them or will not read them, I have a bad attitude because I think "Who does she think she is?" and she won't read them because they are "rude, vulgar and nasty".

She won't use ECCIE anymore and I don't get to meet her:

#8 - Misuse of our Private Messaging system will result in consequences. You are not to spam members using the PM system. You are not to send invitations to other sites using our PM system. You are not to harass others using our PM system.

If some jerk sends you a nasty, vulgar PM..Let your local MOD know.

Damn right Darth! PM abuse won't be tolerated here, by you, me or any other staff member. However, if we don't know about it, we can't do anything about it. Don't just delete an inappropriate message; forward it to a staff member for further action.

Its great tool for both Providers and Hobbyists and a great benefit of membership here. When someone is not comfortable to use it, that pretty much defeats the purpose of having it.

Great point DM. Misuse of the PM system will not be tolerated and will be looked into. I think it is great this was place in the National forum.

LOL right! I ignore PMs all the time and nasty pms aren't the reason.

Anyways, I forward all the "nasty" pms to Chica and he always takes care of it.

If a person does not read PM's because they got a few nasties.. then you block those people
If they then go out in public to attack you they ARE risking a mod seeing it and doing what mods do

BUt if someone is asking a question and you refuse to answer a question then you are giving a bad impression.

In the case of some one asking certain questions that I'm not comfortable with..Ill pm them them back and say.."I'm not comfortable with this line of questioning..and you should contact another provider..thank you and take care..nita.."

Its all about respecting each other..momma always taught me...
" give respect... get respect..." it works both ways...

Exactly.... Anybody ever thought that maybe they already made their first impression with the way they post therefore the provider decided not to respond......

I see what you are saying but no one has to answer anything they don't want to. I have had some ignore me too. No biggie, they won't get a nickle from me and apparently they don't want one from me, so it's all good!

I agree with that... I guess. I personally don't think it takes much to say "hey we can't do biz" or something to that effect. I do think its lame that those providers basically lied to Dart Maul though. They probably did not expect to meet him and did not know what to say to him. They took the heat off themselves. If I were Darth I would not have said anything to them. Why waste time on people like that?

I was not aware that this was a real problem on this board.

It could be only a perception.

If it is a real problem, it should not be tolerated.

However, I know from experience that some people simply do not like to read their email, pms or even voicemail.

I've never understood the reason for that and they themselves could not explain it, but now I never leave messages to those people because I know they won't listen to them.

. . . Now, I don't take it personally because I know it's just another one of those quirks that some people have!
