Now I guess I have to add liar to Cheaper's accomplishments. Also, (Banned topic!!! and we need a cease fire from all directions with the personal attacks in this thread - LaCrew)

By the way, Geraldine Ferraro has died. They interviewed a journalist from back in the 80s and he recounted how Ferraro blew her first interviews so completely he thought she was finished as a candidate. I wonder if anyone called her an ignorant twat?

Democrats always fail to remember the past when they flap their mouth in the present. Then again, with our media they don't have to remember the past and the press won't remind anyone...on purpose.
Reminds me of a couple of years ago when Mark Foley (r) was revealed to being hot emails to young male pages. The democrats and the press tore him to pieces until Gerry Studds died a couple of days later. Then the press, the pundits, the liberals comedians, and the politicians all shut rather than remind people of how Studds (d) was buggering young males pages in the capital (notice it is not capitalized, or maybe that should be capitOlized). Longer always like to aim for the round hole. That's why we all call him Zorba.

RIP Ferraro.

Ferraro may have blown her first interview, but I bet she could've answered the question of what magazines she reads. Unlike someone else. When a person Rep or Dem can't answer a question THAT simple, we're in for some trouble if they become POTUS.

As for Palin's schooling:

Palin's collegiate career began in the one state younger than Alaska, where she attended Hawaii Pacific University in the business administration program. She started in the fall of 1982. Next she headed to North Idaho College, a two-year institution, where she was a general studies major for two more semesters, spring and fall of 1983. Although she never received a degree there, she received the school's Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award this past June.

In the fall of 1984, she transferred to the University of Idaho, where she majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news. She stayed until the spring 1985. The next fall, Palin headed back to Alaska to attend Matanuska-Susitna College, just 14 miles from her hometown, Wasilla.

After one semester, she returned to the University of Idaho, which she attended for three more semesters—spring 1986, fall 1986, and spring 1987. She (at last!) graduated with a degree in journalism. After her roundabout tour of higher education, she worked a short stint as a sportscaster at a station in Anchorage, reporting on the Iditarod and Detroit Pistons basketball.

Yes, I want a POTUS who has a degree in what?.........journalism? That makes all those law degrees that most politicians get seem silly.

Also, I don't think Longer hates us women or women who are providers who are putting ourselves through school...etc. Even if he does, who cares? He's not paying my bills, putting gas in my truck or keeping a roof over my head.

Yes, as a matter of fact, it does seem silly. See how fucked up our government has become with lawyers running things.

Deacon,

Actually I'm not a business under the radar kind thing as your lack of proper usage of the english language goes.

I pay my taxes every year.

Boy, your assumptions sure are making you look bad. You should stop while you're ahead.

And yes, I'd prefer someone with a business degree over a journalism degree anyday.

Yes, I was going to point that out as well.

Truman:
no degree, a good president

Eisenhower:
Military sciences degree from West Point, a good president

JFK:
attended the London School of Economics, enrolled in Harvard and graduated with degree in International Studies, enrolled in studies in Stanford Business School, a good president.

*Nixon:
BA from Whittier College in California(second in class), J.D. (lawyer) from Duke University (third in class), arguably a decent president (ended Vietnam, detente with USSR, trade with China, founded EPA[why I say arguably], resigned).

*Ford:
BA in economics from University of Michigan, J.D. from Yale University, not a good president.

Carter:
attended Georgia Southwestern College, attended Georgia Tech, graduated from the US Naval Academy, one crappy president tied for worst of all time.

Reagan:
BA in economics from Eureka College, minor in sociology, a great president.

Bush (41):
BA in economics from Yale University, a decent president.

*Clinton:
BS (how appropriate) in foreign service from Georgetown University, attended Oxford but did not graduate, J.D. from Yale University, a poor president.

Bush (43):
BA in history (a man after my own heart) from Yale University, an MBA (the only president to earn one) from Harvard Business School. Take away the manufactured controversy and not a bad president.

*Obama:
BS in political science (foreign relations) from Columbia University, don't know his class standing as his records have not been released, J.D. from Harvard Law School. Class standing unknown. So far tied for worst president.

Nixon, Ford, Clinton, and Obama are(or were) lawyers. They are a mixed bag. Loved by their parties, hated by the media, embarrassed the country, and don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. You can disagree with what they have done but they accomplished things in spite of the politics. Same can be said for all presidents but with the exception of Ford all the lawyers have been ethically challenged.

Why do you care if I pay taxes or not and when I do? Want to speak to my accountant too?

In order to buy a car, own a home and go to school, one needs to prove income...hence paying taxes.

I saw something on my nieces dresser this evening that reminded me of you....a troll.

Wow, a whole lot going on in this thread, and I'm a late cummer. Rather than individually responding to comments throughout the thread, I'll just comment on what I have seen in this thread.

1. Sarah Palin should not be the POTUS, nor would I vote for her.
2. Sarah Palin looks hot with an assualt rifle.
3. If Sarah Palin is a whore, I hope she finds this site and offers DATY.
4. Why does it matter if Palin went to a few different schools?
5. All I have to do is turn on C-SPAN to realize that a Harvard education is a waste of money.
6. I'd prefer that politicians major in ethics. Failing that, Accounting would be acceptable.
7. The word "whore" shouldn't be used in a deragotory manner toward providers, since the rest of us are whore-mongers.
8. SillyGirl isn't a liberal. I believe that she's a laissez-faire progressive anarcho-capitalist with monarchist tendencies.
9. Cheaper2buyit: I'll have to admit that one of your posts was really, really difficult to read.
10. John Galt: Bush wasn't a good president.
11. Abortion? lulz! While the Americans are raped of their wealth, certain marketing issues of the Big Two keep the people divided.
12. Obama shouldn't be the President, since he's really a Keynesian.
13. I had more points, but this beer won't drink itself, and I've forgotten what I had wanted to add...dammit!

Yes, I was a bully; sorry! But then, I am just as hard on myself. It is what I am used to. In tough discussions, it is necessary to demand exactness. All science meetings are like that. No feelings are allowed - ever: only the "OBSERVED AND PROVABLE FACTS". We are all entitled to our feelings, but that is not an informed opinion.

Ms. Elena does a fine job of expressing herself, but when she says it is her opinion without any reason; it is in fact her feelings, undocumented and unsupported. There is nothing wrong with that, we are all entitled to our feelings. I apologize for not addressing her feelings, and supporting them.

Recent journalism methods search out the feelings of the person on the street; because it is too hard for a reporter to dig deeply into a subject, and give an informed opinion. It is the lazy way out for what has recently presented itself as "News", when it is nothing of the sort.

My feelings about Sara Palin are: fear of the tendency of people to walk in a lock step with the words of a charismatic speaker.

With good regards to Silly Girl who has cautioned against ever using Hitler: Hitler was a compelling charismatic speaker. I have listened to 78 rpm records of this speeches. His ability to inspire is amazing, and I wish I had a better command of the spoken German language (When I was young the ability to translate German was required, if you wanted to ever do science research; most of the important documents for math, chemistry, physics, early electronics, medicine and a lot of psychology were in German in the 50's & 60's.)

I don't like the man (that is my feelings), but the facts are that he was greatly admired, and loved, by the vast majority of 79.7 million people (1939 census). An interesting thing about the study of Hitler, and the madness of crowds, is that he modeled his political rallies after American Football games. To me, that is a twist of political logic.

The final observation is that Ruth Benedict in her book "Patterns of Culture" discussed how behavior is strongly influenced by custom and tradition.
  1. “The life history of the individual is first and foremost an accommodation to the patterns and standards traditionally handed down in his community.”
  2. “No man ever looks at the world with pristine eyes. He sees it edited by a definite set of customs and institutions and ways of thinking.”

How does this relate to Sara Palin?

JR
