“Simping” is an internet slang term used to describe someone who shows excessive attention and sympathy to another person, usually in the hopes of gaining affection or a sexual relationship. It's often used to describe men who show too much attention to women, but the term can be used more generally to describe anyone who is overly attentive to someone else.
Some examples of simping include: Complimenting someone excessively, Buying gifts for someone, Making extravagant gestures for someone.
