I agree that if prostitution was legal the government would want to collect tax revenue. Much like they have done by allowing vices like the lottery, casino gambling, and the sale of alcoholic beverages. It's a politicians job to figure out a way into someones wallet. However allowing sex workers to operate legally would bring in a lot of tax revenue as in the cases of world famous Red Light Districts in Amersterdam and Frankfurt Germany. At those Red Light Districts clientele don't have to show their ID's and can remain anonymous. Ladies are also regularly tested for STD's to ensure public safety as it should be.
