The house, which has done nothing but pointless investigations, threats about impeaching Biden, replacing the speaker a time or two, and being totally dysfunctional.

Did I forget anything? Other than blocking bipartisan bills or any bills of their own?

And trump, other than his revenge tour, his plan to investigate all the dems and repubs (who have fucked him over some way), his mass firing of government employees, and his many plans to reshape the entire government in his image.

There's just one (actually many) thing.

When will he fix all the problems that he claims only he can fix?
If America is as fucked up as he claims, when will he work on fixing it?

Another trade war?
More drilling (we're already pumping more oil per day than trump ever did)?
Mass deportations (price of produce through the roof)?

I think a big part of the problem is that people don’t understand the dangers of this kind of behavior.

They think that it’s just language and that our institutions will curb the worst of Trump’s policies while they get to push their own minority based ideology.

The repeal of the ACA. Privatization of social security. Trickle down tax policies. The criminalization of abortion and birth control. Not to mention the resumption of Catholicism in our schools, hospitals and public institutions. We have much to fear from the delusions of minority based religious and conservative policies

Remember, when inflation was 1%, gas was a $1.80 a gallon, we were energy independent, The illegal entries into the Country were just about zero, people could afford a house, interest rates were very affordable we were respected around the world, and so on.

That's a great idea! We pay more as a % of GDP for healthcare than any country in the world, and yet healthcare outcomes are comparable to countries like Cuba. Trash the system! Come back with another one that truly provides universal healthcare for all and injects real competition into the system. And lowers costs, a lot, and improves outcomes.

Another great idea! Transition to something like Australia's superannuation retirement plans? Using funds provided by employers, people would actually receive a return on the proceeds in their retirement plans, instead of participating in a massive shell game / Ponzi scheme. Not sure what you're getting at. Trickle down? We have the most progressive tax system in the developed world. But if you mean flatten rates and eliminate loopholes and special privileges, I'm all for it. In 2017, Trump/McConnell/Ryan and other Republicans made individual tax rates more progressive while providing special breaks to small businessmen, and to big businessmen who employ lots of people and have lots of depreciable property. I wouldn't mind seeing those measures undone. On the other hand, changes in corporate taxation were largely positive.

I'm a lot more afraid of the anti-liberals (as in anti-neoliberals and anti-economic liberals) than I am of religious and conservative minorities. This is America. Minorities have the right not to be persecuted by the majority. That said, the tail shouldn't wag the dog on issues like abortion.
