This is about the funniest thing i’ve ever read. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. People who believe in conspiracy theories and the big lie shouldn’t be throwing stones.

Please tell me how my logic is flawed. I would love to hear this. There is simply no way homeland security is ignoring the law and I know this is true because Ken Paxton would be salivating at the chance to sue the federal government over it.

Take a look at Langford’s press release for information on the new legislation.
https://www.lankford.senate.gov/news...llion%20people.

Per the press release:

“The border security bill will put a huge number of new enforcement tools in the hands of a future administration and push the current Administration to finally stop the illegal flow. The bill provides funding to build the wall, increase technology at the border, and add more detention beds, more agents, and more deportation flights. The border security bill ends the abuse of parole on our southwest border that has waived in over a million people. It dramatically changes our ambiguous asylum laws by conducting fast screenings at a higher standard of evidence, limited appeals, and fast deportation.

“New bars to asylum eligibility will stop the criminal cartels from exploiting our currently weak immigration laws. The bill also has new emergency authorities to shut down the border when the border is overrun, new hiring authorities to quickly increase officers, and new hearing authorities to quickly apply consequences for illegal crossings. It changes our border from catch and release to detain and deport.

“Our immigration laws have been weak for years. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to close our open border and give future administrations the effective tools they need to stop the border chaos and protect our nation.”

Reading is fundamental. It creates some threshold limits the naturalization act entries by definition and gives powers to the POTUS to actually LEGALLY shut off the border without an executive order. IT's by hitting thresholds of limits and by other factors. Our border has always had issues with asylum seekers declaring the need to seek same. If you have a problem with that, then you need some Nazi's to patrol and tell everyone to both get the fuck out, get back from the wall , or "vee vill starrrz shewting!" Pretty sure that isn't happening. Enter legally or go back home.

From the reporting I heard it takes away the decision on whether one’s asylum claim is valid from the court to a border agent. Bet you the immigration lawyers are hating that. I bet that it speeds up the process immensely.

Whos holding the border hostage is that orange guy who doesn't want any permanent change to the border - at least not unless he was the one in office. The deal that is on the table is a good one for Republicans...and so so for Dems.

Why do you think it's not being considered Honestly.
The bill provides $60 billion for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel. This bill should not be holding the US Border hostage.
We need an independent bill on borders and immigration

Funny...the GOP was the party that tied border funding to foreign aid assistance. NOW you guys don't like it??!

Make up your minds!!

Or is it, The conservatives didn't think that they would actually be able to put a bill together, let alone have to vote and accept funding because they never thought the Dems would help approve it.

Bluff called!

No new immigration laws are necessary.
Folks who want in have a LEGAL way to do so.
If folks come in undocumented that is illegal.

It's that simple fellers

Spend Ukraine and un money on our borders.

Well, he did, but they didn't.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice and its shame on me.

I don't have any problem with that.

Matter o Fact. -I prefer that bills not be tied together. But you know them dems and reps aint got no trust that the other side will follow through with a promise.

So here we are.

.

The laws were working in 2019. The difference between now and then is who is administering those laws.

It is already not legal to cross into the USA anywhere but a port of entry.

It is not legal to claim asylum in the USA if you have already entered another country. For example, folks who enter Mexico from Central Americas should be applying for asylum from Mexico.

There are plenty of other laws that the current administration simply ignores.
