This why there is a new vaccine for seasonal flu every Sept. The alpha, beta, delta and now Omicron variants have mutated faster than once a year.

Thus a new variant becomes the dominant strain more frequently than once a year with SARS_CoV2. This is why fully vaccinated people with all the boosters can get infected a second time.

Remember with Influenza_A (seasonal flu) the vaccine for that season, is only good for that year. Influenza_A's mutating pattern is only once a year (much slower than SARS_CoV2).

The mutating pattern for SARS_CoV2 is starting to slow, but has not stablized to once a year( that a new variant becomes the dominant strain). Just review the timelines for when the alpha, beta, delta, Omicron variants became the new dominant strain of SARS_CoV2 virus.

With the vaccines you get as a kid before going to public school all of those viruses are non mutating virus. You get the vaccine as a kid and then get a booster 35 to 40 years later. This would not work for Influenza_A or SARS_CoV2 virus. These two viruses are mutating once every 12 months or less.

Did you understand anything that was written? Yes, it's a flu shot. When you are talking about a flu shot for SARS_CoV2, it will only be good for the dominant strain that the flu shot was made for. Once you have a new dominant strain the flu shot is not going to work.

I.E. The flu shot for Inlfuenza_A in 2018 is not going to work in 2019 flu season. A flu shot for 2019 would need to be made.

Your problem is you don't see the difference between a virus that mutates and one that does not.

there are at least 7 SARS viruses so far. 3 mutated themselves out of existence. the rest persist as the flu.

This^^^^ is WRONG. The viruses you get the shots for as a kid to attend elementary school ARE NOT mutating viruses. (Every time it makes a copy of itself, you get an exact/identical copy). That is not the case for Influenza_A or SARS_CoV2 virus.

did i say anything about that? measles? mumps? polio? no i did not and i had every of those as a child because my parents as intelligent people made sure i did

The concept of gain of function works. It was not applied with the SARS_CoV2 virus at the Wu Han lab. The nearest relative to SARS_Cov2 virus (in terms of structure) was hundreds of miles away from the Wu Han Lab.

SARS_CoV2 virus evolved from the wild. The animal transfer to humans most likely happened at the wet market. It's just not known which animal was it. Patient #1 was a female lab worker from a lab on the other side of town.

The furin cleavage appeared due to a mutation and went away due to a mutation. Only two variants of SARS_CoV2 virus have the Furin cleavage, the original strain (no greek letter nickname) from Wu Han and the delta variant. No other variant of SARS_CoV2 virus has/had the Furin Cleavage.
