Think about it, Johnny. Yes, there are scammers. You have to do your research to weed those out. So, why do legitimate, well documented providers like Cendell, want a deposit, es[ecially for 1st time meets. It is because there are too many cancellations and NS. Those cost the provider money. She allotted time that she might have been able schedule someone else in or she might have booked a room at her own expense for no reason. So, if the cancellations and NS stop, there is no reason for a deposit.
