Having fallen victim a few times over the years, it happens.
At least it wasn't worse. Money can be replaced. Being assaulted or in the papers can be life altering

I always go into a place with cash, no wallet. If I get a bad vibe, I “forgot my wallet,” and get the hell out of dodge ASAP. No bullshit, ever. May not have been possible in this scenario but you were outsmarted by drug addicts. Think smarter.
