i think it's unmanly/cowardly to see a potential violation and do nothing about it.

if you saw someone you knew wasn't your neighbor trying to get into his house would you do nothing or report it?

You didn't answer the question.

That's a ridiculous analogy, comparing "going off topic" on an internet forum to a Felony B&E. Give me a break.

You do know the Dr said to report violations via RTM instead of bitching about it in threads. Salty has a bad habit of trying to police threads. He’s been doing it for 20yrs. Nobody pays attention to him. If you don’t like the RTM feature, campaign to delete it. But it’s there, and won’t be deleted anytime soon.

now you can answer the question ... is it unmanly not to act on a potential issue or ignore it?

There it is again. Define acting tough in this context, not from some article that has nothing to do with the subject.

Indeed. Anyone who has been around here should know that. In addition, anyone who has been around should understand that the mod's monitor threads on their own as well, The Dr said it here recently:

#13 - Our moderating staff monitors the forums with the goal of keeping threads on track and on topic. Occasionally we may issue specific instructions or direction to a poster and we ask that you respect those instructions and follow them. Disregarding a moderator's written instruction or repeating a violation for which you have been warned will most certainly result in penalty.

The question was do you think it's manly or cowardly to weaponize the RTM button? You did not answer it.

Very rarely would it be unmanly not to report someone.

Making threads acting tough all the time. I could be more specific but that would help identify the people, which would be against the rules.

I agree with 1pitt on this. I use to never hit the rtn button and didn’t even know it existed. Then the more I posted in the sandbox the more I was getting pointed immediately after a debate with a couple specific guys so it was obvious who was reporting me. One in particular. So I report them. I don’t feel manly doing it but it’s an anonymous site so I’ll get over it. Lol

Then identify them. What’s the problem? How is anyone supposed to have an opinion on something when they don’t even know what that something is? The entire thread is Jr High idiocy.

I will say I reported 1Pitt one time and I use to defend him. He insinuated I was racist because I think Mike Tomlin is overrated. Pretty good coach, but overrated. He did so more than once. Im pretty sure my rtm was the one that got him banned.
Did I feel manly? Not really, but I was sick of it.

The problem is that I've been told not to specifically call out forum members by name, and the people in question weaponize the RTM button, so if I name them, I will certainly be sanctioned. I've made my point. Weaponizing the RTM is cowardly. Especially when it's done by people who act like they're so tough.

You said a lot more than that. You've called him an idiot and other things that were pretty bad and totally inaccurate. This is the first time I've ever seen you say anything even remotely positive about the 7 time division champ, 2 time AFC champ, and Super Bowl champ, future HOF coach Mike T. Weaponizing the RTM is shameful but at least you admitted it. I forgive you.

Nothing Charley said in the Tomlin posts suggested he was racist. I'd have to look back tonsee if u directly or I directly called him racist but if you did, u were at fault plain and simple
Just because someone disagrees with you and it involves a black or Hispanic or Asian does not give you or anyone else the cause to consider it racist unless they out and out post their hatred for a race

The race card is vastly over used in this country.
