Default Illegal government censorship

Matt Taibbi's opening statement on the Twitter Files and the censorship industrial complex:

"Twitter, Facebook, Google, and other companies developed a formal system for taking in moderation requests from every corner of government, from the FBI, DHS, HHS, DOD, the Global Engagement Center at State, even the CIA. For every government agency scanning Twitter, there were perhaps twenty quasi-private entities doing the same thing."

Nothing illegal about a private company (such as Meta or Alphabet) censoring things that are on their systems.
Nothing illegal about a private individual censoring things inside their own home

It's the same thing. Freedom of speech doesn't apply in a private setting, how matter how much you want it to

Once again you show either your lack of knowledge or reading comprehension. It is illegal, violation of an individual's first amendment rights, for the government to censor an individuals speech.

The fact that the government requested a third party tech company do it for them does not make it legal.

Why are you so against freedom of speech?
Why do you support government censorship?

You know that isn't the point. The problem is when the government steps in and pushed the media comparing to censor the views and opinions of their political rivals so the public only hears what they want them to hear. Dictators and totalarian governments do that as did Hitler. Control the media. That goes directly against the core of a constitutional republic

Freedom of speech is minimized by the government

This thread will be interesting. There will surely be a lot of defense of government censorship as a "threat to our democracy."

I agree, it only takes FOUR airplanes to give the government authority to wiretap and spy on every single American under the guise of national security, while also convincing the general population that is for the greater good
