How does ANY of this justify INSUBOARDNATION...IT DOESN"T the President is the COMMANDER-IN-CHEIF!!
Do you have ANY idea how the chain of command works...obviously NOT!!
Truman made the FINAL decision to drop the A bomb...it wouldn't have happened with out HIS approval.

Don't sugar coat ANYTHING. A quote from this article...

“blanket policy at the time not to have high-level engagement with the Chinese on matters like this,” and added that Miller and his office were “not told in advance of any call to the Chinese specifically.”

Former chief of staff for the Department of Defense Kash Patel called it literally treasonous, saying “the law governing the Joint Chiefs of Staff specifically forbids the chairman from exercising any operational command authority.”

“Congress put this in the statute because the U.S. military is to be led by a civilian, the commander-in-chief,” Patel continued. “Furthermore, by law, the national command authority goes from the president to the secretary of Defense to include anything relating troop deployments, operations in theaters of war, and nuclear command.”

Patel added that if the calls with China are true, Milley “has violated the law regarding operational authority.”

“Calling a foreign counterpart and discussing operational capabilities against that enemy is literally treasonous,” Patel said. “The White House, nor the Office of the Secretary of Defense authorized the chairman to conduct any calls with Chinese officials regarding operations.” [….]

Deputy chief of staff to the Department of Defense Joe Francescon also told Fox News that it was “the policy at the time that there was no senior government engagement with China, owing to their bad acts and efforts.”

Francescon added that it was the “blanket policy at the time not to have high-level engagement with the Chinese on matters like this,” and added that Miller and his office were “not told in advance of any call to the Chinese specifically.”

“At most, they were presented that Milley was calling foreign allies and partners to reassure them,” he said.

Milley’s spokesperson’s statement not only dug him a hole on this subject of speaking to the Chinese on this matter, but he also revealed that Milley had regular conversations with Chinese and Russians.

Fox News has learned that Milley had up to 20 phone calls with Li and NATO allies in the wake of the Jan. 6 riot in an effort to reassure them that the U.S. government was stable, and to reassure China that the U.S. did not plan a surprise attack – all in an effort to lower tensions with China during the interim period between the election and inauguration, and to project stability so that adversaries of the U.S. did not take advantage of the domestic turmoil during that period.

If that’s true, then again, this is completely wrong and requires even more investigation, because it isn’t within his authority to conduct foreign policy outside the purview of the president.

The greater problem? He may still be operating this way. Joe Biden has not only not called out these actions, but he’s thrown his support behind Milley, saying he has confidence in him.

SAVE AMERICA
PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP
SEPTEMBER 15, 2021
BEDMINSTER, NJ

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

Milley never told me about calls being made to China. From what I understand, he didn’t tell too many other people either. He put our Country in a very dangerous position but President Xi knows better, and would’ve called me. The way Milley and the Biden Administration handled the Afghanistan withdrawal, perhaps the most embarrassing moment in our Country’s history, would not exactly instill fear in China. Milley is a complete nutjob! The only reason Biden will not fire or court-martial Milley is because he doesn’t want him spilling the dirty secrets on Biden’s deadly disaster in Afghanistan.

Everyone knew Trump was crazy and didn’t want him starting a war because he lost the election.

And you call yourself an Attorney at Law. You are an embarrassment to the law. "thinking" Trump is "crazy" is not a justification for violating Command Authority and I'm sure you know that but as with all other matters like this when you either have to defend the law or defend the Democrats, you choose Democrats even though you make yourself look silly doing it.

And guess what, the more people you add to that "List", the more people whose jobs are on the line because without the President being at the top of that list of people to be notified of such a phone call, the President decides if that call is made, not Milley and I'm not going to ponder for a moment whether you know and understand that because I know you do which is what makes a man like you particularly dangerous, kinda like the people you warn us against in the Trump cabal.

Come on man, put up or shut up. Give us the authority for either Milley or Esper being authorized to conduct foreign policy behind the back of the President.

You can't back up a damn thing you write and it is getting tiresome dude.

Claims that Milley made ‘secret’ calls to Chinese leaders exaggerated, sources say

. . . according to two people familiar with the discussions.

. . . that description is “grossly mischaracterized.”

In fact, Milley asked permission from acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller before making the call, said one former senior defense official, who was in the room for the meeting.

Probably a millennial journalist.

Truman had blanket authorization to do so due to it being war time already. It was feared that trump would start an unauthorized war in an attempt to stay in power.

https://www.businessinsider.com/mich...e-house-2020-9

This article is from before the election and is probably at least in part why they acted. There were few closer to trump than cohen. At some point trump probably asked cohen if he'd be able to stay in power if he started a war.

Calm down man. You’re falling apart. Seeing things that aren’t there. It’s gonna be alright, not saying you don’t need to seek some counseling, but it’s gonna be ok. Just breath, actually read the words that were written and don’t make up some additional words to go along with what you think is being said.

You’re gonna be ok. Just calm down breath and seek help.
