Contacted girl on escort site. She is in South side. Told me to buy an EBay gift card for the full amount but pay when I arrive. I told her it sounded too much like a scam/robbery situation and opted out.

Likely scam. I bet she (or he located who knows where) would ask you for the gift card number over the phone while you are at the door - and then boom, go dark

that happened to me once. would not give number over phone...but still sounded bad.

As I now commonly reply, if they want money up front, or much worse a gift card, they are a guy in a hut in Bangladesh.
Easiest scam in the world to run.

I fell for a scheme years ago and gave a girl the PIN number over the phone, she gave me the room number and when I got to the motel, the room was being cleaned.

The thing that threw me on this one was she said I would pay after I arrived. I would not have given PIN over the phone.
Still felt odd.

Almost fell for that one a couple of yrs ago. She wanted me to take a pic of the card numbers and text it to her. That told me that something was wrong with this picture. I was in front of her apt. building, and told her to come down to the security door so I could show her the card (she could see it through the glass at the side of the door. She declined, I left.
