Can't develop a Vaccine for AIDS. AIDS is a syndrome not a disease.

The op referred to a vaccine for HIV (which is a virus) and not AIDS (which is caused by the HIV virus).

The big question here is can a vaccine be developed to combat a lack of reading comprehension?

No, A Vaccine won't be developed even if it could. They make more money treating these diseases than they do curing them. It's all about the aftermarket.

There's a lot of treatment options, but honestly, I don't know how you vaccinate against something that attacks your immune system.

It literally attacks your Helper T-Cells, which pretty much sound the alarm for any sort of infection. How do you train the body to identify and attack something that that is made to attack the body's means of identifying?

Isn't the covid 19 basically another version of the flu ? If so, if you don't get the yearly flu shot, and don't get the flu, why get the covid 19 vaccine ?

No actually Covid-19 is in the Family of Corona viruses it's not exactly the same type of Virus as the Flu although the symptoms are very similar. Basically Corona Viruses are responsible for "Colds". Covid-19 isn't a natural mutation it's a tweak job and probably won't become a seasonal foe like the Flu has always been. Some of the Conspiracy Theories out there about Covid-19 and it's Vaccine over time will become Conspiracy facts. Something isn't quite right with this Pandemic and I would question everything.

No proof, but suspect statements about HIV vaccine being unprofitable are true, or used to be. Might have been profitable in the 80s, if current technology were available, in terms of vaccinating health care workers. Pfizer technology may change the economics, even for common cold.

There may not be much profit in curing anything, but think about the impact on society and the surge in stock for that particular company. That's a huge win for overall company health and consumer trust in that company.

I just don't get it. If all this covid 19 is, is another variant of a cold or flu virus, I'm not going for the vaccine.
It's not like it is polio or something. How many people regularly die each year from colds or the flu.....about the same as this ?

A couple of friends got the covid, they were fine within a week, and just felt a little tired and loss of taste.

The flu doesn't kill 600,000 people in a year. You need to get your facts straight.

Well, the classification "coronavirus" more denotes it's shape than it's actual symptoms. The virus is circular in shape with small protrusions, so it's named after a crown or a wreath. COVID19 is unique in the receptors it connects to in a cell, which lead to inflammation and oxidation of the cell, which leads to efforts by the body to repair the damage, but leaking a large quantity of clotting factors into the bloodstream.

Staphylococcus aureus, for example, is named for it's bacterial family's usual look of a bunch of grapes, and the fact it has a golden yellow color when exposed to contrast dyes.
